Hey blackhatters, I have a tumblr blog (no money for paid advertising or custom domain/hosting as I'm a school student.)

Recently, I've tried thefollowing:
- Submitting my blog to blog directories (painstaking, doesn't guarentee views and they ask for html embedding most times)
- Safe email list (A free safe mail list though I'm still debating if to scrape emails, tag it with [FW] and start an email chain)
- Pinterest for social traffic but that doesn't work
- Stumbleupon barely get's me noticed

So far my blog has about 15 followers and I post wallpapers on queue which get me some likes but nothing noticeable.

I tried infolinks for ads but that just looked spammy. Chitika looked out of place and viglinks won't even popup.

But for all of them, made $0 (haven't tried adsense yet and I kind of don't want to yet, last resort thing).

Grow your blog more, 15 followers is next to nothing you'll need more like 15,000.

So what should I do go to follower exchange sites? How would it help? I doubt they'd want anything to do with the blog...

Just add valuable information in your blog, add more informative quality contents with great images and infographics. Add more infographics and share them virally in all social networking sites, infographics are more likely to get you greater number of audience. Find your audience and keep them engaged with your blog by giving them great piece of content. That's it simple.

My problem is not content, it's getting the people to the actual site. I'll try gathering some related infographics for my blog but it'd more or less be the same story as with the wallpapers I have on queue (like but no follow).

Still gonna try it though, thanks!

Yes, content is not the end. The reality is taking your content to reach the right audience, it needs lot of research on where your audience hangout, like in which social media and at what right time you can get them. Find your audience and also find all possible ways to make sure that your content is likely to get the attention of your targeting audience. Good luck for you :)

Create a fake Facebook account of a model, find groups with people that you want to target add them and promote the blog to them.

Thanks, considering what my blog is about, this should be effective. I found out something about facebook with regards to pages and commenting that I'm gonna test out

You have a Tumblr blog, you try to acquire 3,000 followers at Tumblr which related to your niche. Then you can monetize it.

Generate more traffic first. Don't have to worry about making money before getting 500 visits a day.

So far all I'm getting is 2~4 followers/day by just queueing photos. I'm planning to scrape more and I'm sharing some of my follower's photos/posts to make it seem as I'm really active so I have activity at about 10/day. (REALLY LOW)

Mass liking posts don't help much unless they are low in notes and mass following is a waste since only 1% follow back. Any tips on how to target my likes and follows?

EDIT: Currently I'm at 2x followers

You're wasting your time. Plunk down $10 on a domain name.

Thanks noseo but thats exactly what I'm trying to do/was doing with this but I'm considering ppi and letting this build up followers passively so I can launch chitika on it later

The OP should imagine walking into a room full of his niche audience and announcing "anyone for free booze and broads?," or whatever the equivalent would be to wake everybody up in that group. Figure out "what do these people really want to hear?," then talk about that. Give them tips and resources that connect with what they want, and build your marketing and social strategy around that. The monetization should not be generic, it should also connect with the target group---if the niche is teen self-image, items like acne cure products should be the end thing promoted. That kind of thing.

Analyze. Look who is viewing your site, why, where from, what do they find most engaging. If you want to increase numbers - study the numbers.

To get more traffic and followers you should try social media, blog commenting and forum posting links.
