Will google penalize my website for affiliate marketing banner?

Hi everyone,

I have a great idea, instead adding my affiliate links as anchors what about inserting banners in homepage and in the side of article and mark them as nofollow + sponsored, so this way will google penalize my website with affiliate banners?

Is this idea a solution to affiliate marketing without getting penalized?

If not, how do you earn with affiliate marketing with SEO and Google?

Google won’t penalize a site just for using affiliate banners. Mark the links as rel="sponsored" and make sure the pages add real value, because thin affiliate content is the bigger risk
 
No, having affiliate banners by itself shouldn’t be a problem. The bigger thing is how the page is set up and whether the content actually provides value. Using rel="sponsored" on affiliate links is the safer approach. Avoid putting tooo many banners
 
If it's just one or two banners that don't overload the site, you have nothing to worry about. But if the site ends up crammed with full-screen pop-ups, sticky banners taking up most of the mobile screen, ads above the main content, autoplaying videos, interstitials that require closing before accessing the article, and other advertising junk that only annoys users... - it could all end badly for your website.
Google can detect this thanks to clutterScore - site-level signal measuring the overload of ads and all kinds of pop-up elements.
As a rule, this results in an algorithmic filter applied selectively to the pages users reach directly from search results.
 
Affiliate banners themselves shouldn’t be the problem. I’d focus more on keeping them relevant, not intrusive, and making sure the site offers real value beyond the affiliate links.
 
I think the banner itself is less important than how the affiliate content is handled across the site. If the pages offer genuine value and the banners are relevant rather than distracting, affiliate monetization can be perfectly reasonable. I’d focus on the quality of the content and overall user experience instead of relying only on nofollow or sponsored attributes.
 
Google won't penalize banners marked rel="sponsored". However, penalties target low-value content, not link formats.
 
So as i understood it will not ban banners and what about anchor link affiliates, will it ban or still relies in content value?
 
And i have one more question does affiliate have to be in the same niche as website?

There's no reason for your site to be penalized just because you have affiliate banners.

A gud idea for links is affiliate links too. I will ensure that the link are relevant and that I use rel="sponsored". It seems that it does not matter whether the links are banner or text.

that would be pretty much perfect as far as I'm concerned. Just keep your offer current and don’t forget to put the right markup on any affiliate or monetized links.”
 
affiliate banners themselves shouldn’t be a problem as long as they’re clearly disclosed and the page provides genuine value beyond the affiliate promotion I’d focus more on helpful content relevant offers and proper sponsored/nofollow attributes rather than trying to use banners simply as a way to avoid penalties

affiliate banners are very common. all I would be looking to see is whether or not the affiliate banner is suitable to view on the website.
 
The banners by themselves do not cause any problem; what counts is the quality of the whole page as well as if the ads swamp the information. The use of `nofollow,sponsored` is ideal, although it will not get poor quality pages ranked.

You can also cloak the ads out for search engines

If search engine bot then don't show the ads
