Can't understand why my Amazon affiliation doesn't work well

Hi everybody,
I've been working on a site in italian in the electronics niche for a few months.

Now the site is starting to get some traffic and some clicks, but it doesn't really convert well.

Here are some numbers:

-Visits, clicks, orders to the Amazon profile in these first 5 months


Unique visitors to the website:




The problem is that I read here that some people with my same amount of visits make 250$ a month. The maximum amount of money I made in a month is around 40$, in July.

Is there something wrong in these numbers? Should I just increase the number of visits to see an increase in revenue? Or did I choose the wrong niche and products?

Don't know. The first journey I read on this forum was from an italian guy, @arganrecords, and he claimed he was making 300$ a day with one of his websites in Italian.

Not all traffic is equal, maybe you focus on the wrong keywords, maybe the niche you selected just doesn't convert well on Amazon.

Have you done any split testing? Different colors, link placement, article type, etc...

I also encounter it, guess a lot western folks go from china , is cheap depend how you find some items are authentic whereas a lot fakes next a lot stuffs manufacture in China whereby the product is selling in America. I feel now online shopper is smarter where to find cheap deal.

It's strange: the day before yesterday I had 5 conversions, yesterday 0. I'm now creating different IDs for each page. Do you think I should differentiate even more the links (e.g. based on position)?

Sorry for the stupid question: how do I do A/B testing with such a small amount of clicks?

With so little traffic you shouldn't worry about daily conversions, look at the difference week by week.

To properly track everything each link should have it's own ID so you know exactly how each link of each variation is performing.

The amount of traffic is not really a problem, simply run the different variations long enough so you have enough data to compare, keep in mind that it's a long term strategy so I the mean time keep working on your traffic or keep making more websites.
