Hi everyone,

I?m starting a thread for another one of those amazon authority sites.

I?m a complete beginner and aim to start this thread to keep myself accountable, practice some writing, and hopefully inspire others reading this to give it a shot too. The current plan is to create an amazon authority site using a mixture of white and black hat techniques to make $150/day. I?ll update once a week but will reply regularly.

So far, I?ve done a lot reading from Niche Pursuits, Neil Patal, OnlineDimes, and of course, BHW. The most inspiring resource that pushed me to take action is arganrecord?s thread on his amazon journey.

Alright, to the details. I?ve done the following so far:

- Purchased domain and hosting
- Purchased expensive theme that I regret
- Installed wordpress and a few useful plugins (including database cleaning and backup ones)
- Created logo, slogan, and so on
- Spent ages learning, creating, and tweaking the landing page
- Designed content plan and site structure
- Outsourced articles (tried around 5 writers from BHW and 10 from Upwork)
- Rewrote every single article except for 1 (that writer is from BHW! Sadly, he?s out of my budget for now)
- Created social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest) and streamlined them with IFTTT
- Got some Fiverr diversity links, literally just pinged them out.

Going forward, I plan to do the following:

- Find an alternative solution to Amazon Link / EasyAzon as both of them clashed with my theme builder at the moment.
- Rewrite and post 2 pillar articles ? 2000+ words each, it?ll be fun!
- Move all images to AWS and create a CDN
- Create free manual backlinks (using guide from OnlineDimes)
- Populate social media (it?s empty at the moment)

I?m still deciding what kind of KPIs I?ll use for my weekly updates. Other than weekly income, what do you guys want to know?

Wow, I didn't expect that many replies. Thanks everyone, I'll do my best!

What's AWS and EasyAzon btw?

AWS is Amazon Web Services. They offer lots of cloud storage and computing solutions there. I'm just learning it as part of a hobby/interest, but I think it can see where visitors are from and load pictures that's stored closest to them. TBC next week when I read about it!

EasyAzon is a wordpress plugin that redirects the user to the Amazon (.com, .co.uk) closest to them. This is because if you're an affiliate for amazon.com and they are from UK, you won't get a commission.

weekly costs and time

Thanks, I'll go with that! Other suggestions welcomed :)

Glad to see you are taking action. Am also new to this whole world of internet marketing. Currently am writing content for my first site ever, targeting adsense. Still in the reading phase getting to speed with wordpress. I will follow your journey, good luck.

Good luck! Stay with the tried and true methods here, don't give up, and you will succeed. Looks like you already know your stuff.

Well, what's your idea to populate social media? Btw, good luck with your JOURNEY!!

Best Wishes - BB

Would like to see the amount of visitors your site has on every update. Good luck!

Great to see that you are taking Action.Good Luck.:)

Haha, I wish. I still got lots to learn and do.

Pictures and stuff, it's completely empty at the moment other than the display pic lol - I think I'll do something about it next week after I post the 2 main keyword articles.

Great! Is that your only source of money, mate?

Not at the moment, I will be soon in a few weeks because I just handed in my notice a while ago. I've saved a bit of money and should be able to hold out for a few years - although I'll only give myself 1 - 1.5 year to try this out.

Good luck on your journey. I am just starting on an amazon site. I threw some paid traffic on Facebook at some of my posts, but I am still trying to figure out that secret sauce to get people to click the buy button.

You would need to push products of daily use and value to these people, or high end non electronic products for $150 daily goal. When you think about it, is it worth to push $1875 or more Amazon's way (8% is the commission I am basing this off of). You really can't think of another way (direct sell) to make more than $150 daily with a $1875 investment? If not, good luck hope it works out for you.
