Hello everyone! I have a quick question about something that has been on my mind recently.

Basically, I get A TON of views from countries like Russia, Vietnam, Mexico, etc. BUT I am located in Canada. This leads to me literally getting paid NOTHING for all the views I get. Yes, I am partnered, yes the videos are monetized, yes they all have great retention, yes I am in a good niche.

The question I have IS, if I were to use an IP changer/switcher and changed my IP to one from one of the locations I listed above, and created a YouTube account while my IP was changed, would that tell YouTube that I am from that location? Or would I still be considered a Canadian account once my IP switched back to my Canadian IP.

Any response would be appreciated! Thanks everyone!

If you used a Russian IP YouTube will assume you're in Russia. If you signed in the same account with your Canadian IP YouTube will assume you're back in Canada. But remember doing that may cause a roadblock, YouTube will ask you to verify some information to prove you are the owner of the account.

Thanks for the reply!

1 more question, so if I made sure I was on a Russian IP whenever I am signed into the YouTube account, then I would be okay?

Not sure why you want to show you're from Russia but yes, just make sure it is a clean private proxy.

I want it to show I'm from Russia because I live in Canada and views from countries like I listed above don't give any payment!

That has absolutely nothing to do with it.

You aren't getting paid anything because those views are not being monetized because they're located in poor countries or countries difficult to monetize. Basically, advertisers don't pay for traffic from those countries, or if they do, they pay very little.

You could be based in the Ukraine and be getting views from the USA and you'd be making bank because USA views are the most valuable and people bid hard for USA-based viewers. It wouldn't matter that you're in the Ukraine.

Your location doesn't matter. You just have viewers in shit countries. Its like how you can buy clicks from those countries in Adwords for a few cents. Because its generally worthless traffic.

Exactly. This is why I was confused with him asking to change locations.

Thanks for the reply's everyone!
I honestly didn't know that the countries I am getting views from just generally don't get any money allocated to ads (or however you want to say it). I figured I would still make SOMETHING regardless of the countries.
Only problem I have it that if I buy geo-targeted views for Canada or the U.S.A I won't make any profit- I'll be losing money.
Regardless, I guess I can still rank and just not get paid anything back for the views I buy and hope I get a lot of organic views.

Buying views could lead you to get banned from adsense. Try to monetize your videos with CPA offers to make more money.

Would the risk of getting banned still be there if I was partnered with an MCN?

i recommend you to:

1. first rank your video with local traffic ONLY (from tier 1)
2. after you see you get daily organic traffic, start to monetized it (only after the bought views campaign is done!)

I guess this would be the safest option.

My only problem is the cost for local traffic. Buying 1000 views for $2.00 means I would need to get 2000-3000 organic monetized views minimum to make my money back (almost).
