Ask me anything about dropshipping on ebay

Hey there BHW-ers!

I've noticed that the level of interest towards the eBay side of BHW has piqued within the last week or so. Some of you are just now getting your feet wet, whereas others are trying to figure out how to turn this thing into a full time xx,xxx/m income.

I've spent A-LOT of time successfully drop shipping on eBay and would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have

Cheers,
Zach

Have you ever tried Amazon to Ebay dropshipping ? Good idea or ? Can I do this method outside the US ? http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...pping-done-right-spoon-fed-long-detailed.html

^ This is what I have experience doing. It's the best way to make money if you don't have the capital for manufacturing/wholesaling

I really love the fact that you aren't investing cash up front. Once your paypal holds are off you use your customers money to buy their products. Then you keep the profits :)

You can definitely do it if you don't live in the US. You need to:

My questions are based on original title and post. He has experience with Amazon, dropshipping comes from China too so I assume he might have other experience yet to clarify or not.

OK, how do you contact manufacturer's suppliers directly in China?

How would you source it?

Many of the sellers from China will dropship from them, so how do I connect with them instead of the middleman?

Not really recommended for beginners, since it's scam central over there. For example, there are basically half dozen factories in China that actually manufactures product for my niche, but there are like 200 companies claiming that they manufacture. 194 or those 200 companies are really buying from other factories and just reselling to you. And that's even if they run a legit business, instead of building running up a big bunch of pre-order payments and skipping town with the money, which happens a LOT.

what he's saying is correct, china import isnt for begginers, you have to build slowly for there.

The big one for me is how to get your listing noticed. I'd guess it's nothing like normal SEO. But when I sold things I was buried below other search results. I "keyword optimized" and everything. How do you get your listings seen? Or get it up the eBay search results. Anything. Thanks for doing the Q&A

If you become a big enough player in a niche, the producers will seek you out. Information travels fast over there.

on eBay, they take into consideration your defect rate and your sellthrough rate before taking into account SEO. SEO helps, but not as much as selling a TON of products

Just starting my "empire" .. When i close 7 and only 3 pay. Can I tell them that there is a nonpayment fee of 10 dollars haha. For me not to leave bad feedback. Let's get real they would probably pay. Is that acceptable by eBay ??

Wouldn't risk it

can anybody cell on Ebay?

Yes. As long as there is an eBay domain that correlates with your location you can register and sell

Hi i have just started on dropshipping and has just listed an item from Azone. Everything looks okay except the shipping fee. I have no idea why i can't ship internationally(perhaps because i've just created the account lesser than an hour??). But the problem is i have no idea how to calculate the shipping fee. Should i look up my local or international courier pricing? Or is there a tool that could just simply calculate the prices for me. Would appreciate all the help! Thanks in advance!

You want to exclude international locations from being able to purchase your products.

I just start using service to list and update price. Got more orders in these 2 days but also problem come as they update price only in 2 hours, buyer bought old price while AM already high price. I try to ask buyer to cancel but because price change is big, so she ignore. Can I just refund her money back? I know she will definitely give me negative feedback. But will eBay also take the eye on me? (Always sell my own stuff, this dropship thing really new to me, feel a bit scary.)

Rose, refer back to the clause we set you up with. In the future you can cancel the order and refund your buyer: then send them an email letting them know that your carrier does not provide shipping to their zip code. It's all located in Module 3 :)

PS. When asked why you're cancelling say that the buyer ordered from an address that cannot be shipped to. This way you will not receive a negative "ding" on your account

You could have said that the item upon checking was found damaged and that it needs to be sent to your supplier,as such you can't send the product and because it was the last one in stock you will have to fully refund.

If you decide to go that route eBay will view it as your mistake and it will negatively impact your account.

Otherwise you could have send the product and take a loss,i've done it too sometimes when i didnt want to cancel the item since it was in need(for example some days before a mother bought an item for her son,the item's price increased and i would be without profit taking a loss of 20 euro.I've sent the item since i wanted the mother to please her child as a one time exception).

When I first started making a lot of money on eBay I was giving up thousands just because I was to lazy to return items :P Hell, customers were asking for returns due to item defects, I was letting them keep the item, refunding them, and I was purchasing/ sending them a replacement item free of charge. Definitely have gotten meaner now

and one small tip to anyone that makes this job for a serious income.WORK terapeak as much as you can.Competitor research is pure gold.Find 5-10 Dropshippers that sell with a good profit margin and drink their blood through terapeak.(undercut their hot items)

Cheers

Competitor research within eBay > Using Terapeak

In the other thread I read advice to edit photos, add some text like free shipping etc. I saw today that this is actually against eBay rules. Is this rule enforced? I see a lot of listings with sales text on photos but I don't want to put my account at risk if they are tough on this.

Stock photos > Edited photos. Way more professional

Zach, thank you so much! First lesson learn. hehe
Been with eBay for more than 3 years but never use dropship (only sell my own making stuffs), start this work, tomorrow will be one full week, getting better, expecting to list 3k per your recommendation, but I feel like I know nothing at all. haha

Thank you for all the tips, I make a note on my book. ;)

One thing, I have noticed that when everyone looking to copy the sold items from other sellers, then it is tougher to get sell (or probably only me).

You'll develop an eye for items! Just keep reviewing the course: You know where to reach me if you have Q's :)

. . . It's intensely hard because you can get banned really quickly. . .

I've already been successfully selling items (1000+) for quite a few years on eBay, traditionally, purchasing items in advance and shipping them myself.

I want to clarify why you said you can get banned really quickly. Is that if you make mistakes of not ordering the items, use unreliable dropshippers, sell an item that goes out of stock, etc? If you sell on eBay, fulfill through Amazon-sold or FBA items, place Amazon orders ASAP (max 12 hours for sleep), and use custom software to pull eBay auctions when items go out of stock, are you going to be OK?

And, I'm confused why so many people are saying stealth accounts are necessary. Is that only for people who got banned in their own name? Can eBay selling/Amazon buying be done using your own name on eBay/PayPal, and just letting Amazon maybe being the one who gets pissed off, banning, and allowing you to make a new account whenever they do?

Do you personally just use one eBay/PayPal account for dropshipped sales? Under your real name/address/etc? Or are you diversified using multiple stealth accounts? Are you using your own IP?

I don't see why you need stealth accounts, its not illegal to dropship from Ebay via Amazon or anyone else, the only thing you need to be careful of is using a prime account to ship, but many people on here seem to do that with no problems.

Lol! Just made a normal purchase off ebay, and it came to me in an Amz box! Checked the item on Amz, and the profit margin is slim, but do it in volume...

Just goes to show it works.

What are members views on Skugrid and Hydra Listing software? Going to do the free trail.
Good? worth it?

Do you guys see a large increase in sales/conversions as the feedback numbers go up, and once you become a top-rated seller? I am close to becoming a top-rated seller and am excited about reaching that, assuming it actually means something.

I have seen no increase for being a top rated seller but I have seen bumps up in placement once you hit about 100 feedback and 500 feedback.

Ebay won't view it as anything because after the buyer confirms that he is ok with a cancel of the order, because of the fair reason you gave him, you will go and cancel the transaction and click buyer wanted to cancel the transaction.
I've been doing this for 1 year now.

^Just clarifying. Think this may have been confusing

I'm really interested in this way of dropshipping and i've read the topic. But as I live in Belgium, I think there is no possibility for me to do this? Of course we have access to Ebay and Amazon over here, but there is no amazon.be. We can buy from the American Amazon but of course with a long delivery time and a big chance of having to pay customs duty of around 20 euros!

What do you guys recommend? I don't think there is a way I can only sell in US for example while living in Belgium?

Amazon to ebay works but is preeeeetty risky,I wouldn't bet my living on it at all.IF you do it try to find products that don't ship in the Amazon box(I assume larger items may not seeing as I ordered a huge dog cage off there earlier this year and for the life of me don't remember seeing anything that hinted Amazon).I hear people saying if you have "customer service skills" you won't have a problem with it but I've also noticed on affiliate marketing and such sites people almost paint that the customers are mentally ill and don't check listening to them talk which is definitely not the case.
