Final year CS student searching for a good idea as final year project

Hi All,


I'm a final year computer science student and thought I could do something useful in my last semester.

I'm familiar with web technologies, mostly server side (Java Spring) and have some experience with reactive sites too (Meteor).

Furthermore I have experience developing Android applications and in this semester I'm learning iOS development too.

I'm familiar with RESTFul webservices so I could implement any third party API too.

I have built standalone programs that you can run on your OS with graphical user interfaces too but I prefer the ones I mentioned earlier.



So I feel like I have a good asset of skills for a useful application.

The person who sends me the idea I like most will have free membership of the app/web application when its ready.

Couple ideas (not specific sorry!)

1) Find the company you'd most like to work for and make a project to WOW them (related to their services or industry). That's how you get hired out of uni. Having a degree isn't special anymore. How I got my first job after uni.

2) Bid on large projects on freelance websites. Make some money while doing your final project!

Thanks for your reply.
The thing's I already have a place to go after uni. Throughout my academic years I've been working part time and worked on some interesting projects so have some references too. But you know after uni, I'd more fancy of starting some kind of venture. Not too sure what but I'm quite certain that it'll involve programming.
So actually this idea of writing here pop up this morning on the way to uni in hope of finding someone that'd need some functionality but couldn't really find a good enough tool for that and who could share that with me.
