Claiming Hosting & SEO Sevices

Hi guys! I paid 568.00 last year on Godaddy and Hostgator... would I claim that whole amount under domain / Hosting? I spent 3,250 on SEO and I would claim that as SEO. Going forward when I buy seo do ask the seller for a form to use as my taxes next year? Sorry for asking about taxes but these things freak me out!! I'm in the US. Many thanks

If you are dead set on doing your taxes yourself and you are in the USA, claim those expenses on a schedule C, and going forward be sure to have an invoice that corresponds with your payment.

Thanks BTB! Do I have to ask the seller for a invoice or is a paypal invoice enough when I sent the payment to the seller? Thanks

As someone who previously worked for Intuit (TurboTax), I would suggest giving them a call and getting the program for free. All you need to do is tell them that you are disappointed in the product and are thinking of taking your business elsewhere. We have to give you either a discount, free upgrade, or free copy in order to maintain customer satisfaction. Cracked copies do work, but there is more chance for error and then you can't call in to customer support because agents can tell if you have a cracked copy and will refuse to help you.

There is also a free tax support department for the specific purpose of helping you with taxes and questions like yours.
