I read the other reviews about Hostwinds and decided I would tell you my experience with Hostwinds.

During many of the times noted in other reviews there were some major headaches and if I had written my review then I might have a similar rating of them except for the support. That has always been exceptional. They have always been on top of issues usually before I even notice an issue. When there were problems they let me know.

I was also referred there from recommendations from this forum as it had just decided to host there as well and the site was running much faster so I made the move myself. It was a kind of a rough start but Peter and his crew were always straight forward about everything and did everything possible to keep everyone online regardless of issues that arose from taking on such a behemoth of a forum.

Having hosted my own servers for many years I understand the headache and sleepless weeks that come along with managing servers so I am more than happy to place that their shoulders.

Other than the unavoidable bumps in the road in the beginning (I started 03-03-12), I have been very happy with Hostwinds and continue to be a very happy customer to this day. 01-31-13 and will continue hosting with them because the last 6 months or so have been flawless.

Hostwinds is simply great. Do I need to say more? It has been more than 5 months since I have been using them, but leaving aside a few glitches, which is expected, there were hardly any problems. I have recommended it to couple of my friends. I concur that last year they had some major problems and they were not able to cope with those problems properly, but now those things are a past. My vote goes for them.

Hostwinds has been the best hosting company, through the years I have had quite a few but hostwinds beats them all hands down.. Hostwinds offer a variety of excellent priced packages and the support is the best! One example I would like to give is I submitted a support ticket to find out how long my sites would be under maintenance and within less than 5 minutes support contacted me to let me know the issue and the time frame they estimated that it would be down. Hostwinds is the best hosting company and I am honored to be a part of this. I have found hostwinds to be the best host and I am very happy to recommend to everyone.

Awful, 2 full days of downtime in one year, and numerous other smaller downtimes. Also disconnected my account 1 year ago for non payment despite that it was paid. Was given some pissant excuse about the change in payment system.

I am ready to use hostwinds as my hosting service. But before i use i have to make sure if this service is good.

Those who have used hostwinds please provide your experience with hostwinds. Also will hostwinds accept payment for unverified paypal?

I have been using hostwinds for awhile now and they have been really good with helping me at times step by step through certain issues, and the response time is pretty quick as well.

I have been using hostwinds for a while now and was happy with the service until today.I had a issue with my ip getting blocked then getting a reply that they can't keep unblocking my ip that it was a software issue.I have 6 other hosting accounts and none with no ip blocking issues.
Thinking about changing to another host.
