Hey guys, i wonder if you can help me.

After reviewing a lot of material from the legend that is Howie Schwartz i decided i would have a crack at dominating a small niche so i picked a niche with 289,000 results for my broad match keyword (2,190 phrase, 302 Title comp) which was showing adwords ads and squidoo lens's on page 1 of google

So i created my own lens with the aim of nabbing that page one spot, so far i have created a lens with my keyword in the domain (which the current page 1 lens doesn't have) and given it a few backlinks from 2 related autoblogs and one related pr4 static site that i have and done a bit of manaual bookmarking

This seems to have gotten me onto page 3 of google, i wondered if anybody had any good suggestions to get me onto page 1 and stay there

Any help would be appreciated

Download linkwheel by lemonarian, read it tonight, apply tomorrow.
Do it step by step, dont be creative, follow the plan.
Wait one week, repeat if u dont see the results u expect to see.
U will be #1 if the niche is small and there isnt authorative sites

Unique article is necessary and keyword density. But i suggest linkwheel tactic, for low competition it's easy to dominate place 1 to 10. But for 280k result it'll be a little bit harder. Just build another wheel around the first wheel.

Make sure you tagged your lens properly too, and any images you have on the lens...make sure the file you uploaded is named with keywords that you are shooting for (minor SEO tip).

Indeed build a link wheel and bookmark appropriately. Just keep adding links at a decent pace and you will overtake your competition eventually...just a matter of time and effort.

Keep building links to your site. Don't just stop promoting it.

Keep going until you reach page 1.

what's the difference between linkwheel and revenge of the mininets?

Thanks, you guys rock, hadn't heard of linkwheel before - i'm assuming it is some sort of structured blog farm approach but i will download tonight and put into action, again you rock! :)

Had a look at the linkwheel doc and am starting to action right now, one Q i have is whether the content on each web 2.0 property needs to be unique. i.e. will the linkwheel still work if i post the same article to each web 2.0 property?

If not i guess i'm gonna need to hire some article writers or something otherwise it will take me ages, any tips? what would you do?

Appreciate the feedback as always guys, will keep you posted to how well it goes

Hire some cheap article writers on getafreelancer ($2.5 per 500 words)

Let them write 25 articles about your niche with the keyword you are targeting atleast ~3 times in the content. Post 10 articles in different web2.0 properties, and other 10 articles in different article directory's. Titles from the pages/articles could be something like:

[Your SEO keyword], [Random relevant title]

Use the article directory's to link to your web2.0 properties AND money site (you can use 2 links in each article). Just crosslink everything. Then lateron check which web2.0 properties are doing good in google and add the last 5 articles to those to "update" them. Google loves that.

Dont forget to "spam"(not overdo) the web2.0 sites with bookmarks, blog comments, xrumer, autopligg, ping whatever. These tactics still work like hell.

For example if you check the keyword "buy viagra" in google you will see alot of web2.0 properties, profiles or forums people use to rank high. If you reverse engineer there linkbuilding scheme its just basic forum spam/blog commenting and use of linkwheels. So yes, this is very powerfull. Also if you reverse engineer marketeers in really blackhat markets like viagra you can discover great properties to use in your linkbuilding campaign :)

Hope it made any sense ;)

Right have read the linkwheel process and set the wheel in motion (sorry!) lets see how it goes, will feed back soon

OK, so as i said i had a quick go at the linkwheel last night and set up 6 web 2.0 sites wheel fashion and submitted to RSS directories as suggested in linkwheel. Unfortunately given the time i have just duplicated my article across each of the sites which is not ideal but i will see how it performs and then get some unique articles done if there is little rank improvement

I have a couple of Q's from the comments above:

When you say build a second wheel around the first does that mean a new 6 site wheel around each of the outer wheel sites i.e. 6x6=36 new sites?

When you say submit to article directories i guess you mean the likes of ezine articles etc. i thought these only allowed you one backlink, am i wrong here?

Appreciate the feedback as always guys, feel like i am making some good progress

Oh, major bummer! just checked back to my ranking today and my lens has been delisted, looks like the linkwheel screwed me, what did i do wrong? was it because i didn't use unique content on the web 2.0 properties?

Aaaargh, 2 hrs wasted, anybody got any ideas how i can get this back on track?

Most likely not delisted but on hold so to speak. Keep going and it will pop back up. I find this happens all the time for very small niches and keywords where there is no competition. I did this recently with a cattle site and it disappeared for about 15 days them came back at number one spot and has pretty much stayed there.

So your lens is completely gone or has it's rank shifted? Unless you went hog wild and built a ton of backlinks in 1 day, I would think the lens would still be somewhere in G.

If not, then you might want to just link bomb it and hope it gets into MSN fairly quick.

Seemayer,

Check out the KW tags of the lens(es) on page 1, do your KW research and swipe the best peforming ones. As suggested before, throw some article marketing in the mix. As far as the content on your web 2.0 pages is concerned, IMO unique content would be best, but at the very least you should rewrite it. How much of a rewrite? Aim for at least 50% - some might say 35%. Also, throw some images and/or related videos onto those pages to make them unique. The content on your lens needs to be your best work and keep it updated.

Linkwheel sounds useful! Thanks for that guy. Concerning number one. Heard a long and involved interview with Ahmit last night. The Indian SEO kingpin who made $2million in a year. For what it's worth he said you don't want page one. Page one is for tire kickers and window shoppers. Shoot for page two. :cool2:

Thanks guys, I will now search for the linkwheel...

Q
So if I'm using squidoo lens as my landing page should it be seo'd? I'm assuming so but with lens name, url, content etc.? Or should I just make the article directories, web 2.0 properties seo'd?

Easy man...
Its normal, keep working.
That 'delisted' is totally temporal, forget about it, and dont forget to ping using pingler each property.
Stop searching on Google ur site...dont do it that right now, do it in a week :)

Optimize your lens & other web 2.0 pages just as you would any article submitted to EZA, etc. Also be sure to include target KW in lens URL.
LensInspector can help you find available lens URL's by KW
