I can say if forum had such rule when I joined I would have not be able to make a single Penny. Just check hire a freelancer thread 70% job offered by people having post count less than 50.

I find it nicely ironic that this post was not posted in the dedicated sub-forum we have for members to posts suggestions :) If old members don't know everything, how can one be hard on the new ones?
I posted in "lounge" because it wasn't suggestion, it was a complain which I wanted to discuss with older members of this forum before we find together the best solutions to post suggestion... And thank you for making fun of older members, it's is nice to see how you appreciate our loyalty to this forum...

Cheers

Oh, so I'm crazy and can't read...

Let's see what you wrote: "I would really like that MODS make a new rule" . Yep, you're right, that's not a suggestion, it's a complaint. How could I ever err like that?

And not only am I crazy and can't read, I am also supposedly making fun of older members.

Well, first of all, IF I were making fun of anyone, it wouldn't be "older members" in general, it would have been ONE "old member who posted something worthy of making fun of".

Secondly, please accept my humble apologies for having an opinion that does not align with yours (oh, the horror!) and daring say so publicly.

There is slightly difference between "I would like" and "I suggest" but never mind, I don't wanna go off topic... Here is one suggestion: spend more time checking for spamers among new members, not on competition who is smarter and analyzing my every word... Main point is that I wanted to draw attention that every day is more and more new accounts posting spam, self promoting threads etc, and to see how many people agree or disagree to put some kind of restriction...

So apart from a crazy lousy reader whose only path in life is to insult old members, I also don't do my job well?

Dudes, there no need for this.

OP intentions where good, but the suggestion was not.
And I completely respect and admire the mods as OP does, only god knows what kind of shit they have to go thru every day to keep this community clean as possible.

OP's intention is good. But I don't agree with post limitation. This will only encourage users to posts useless comments in order to gain post counts.

I didn't say that you don't do your job well, I know it must be a hard work to keep an eye on every single thread... I really only have good intentions as guys above said and maybe if you make some new restrictions in the future your job will be easier as well...

Cheers

I never said you had anything less than good intentions and actually my original post had nothing against you.
Apart from the good intentions though, you also had no tolerance and chose to attack me for reasons I can't understand.

I'm very much mixed on this. I'm a fairly new member to the forum but I was a lurker for years and therefore understood the unwritten rules. You see a guy getting blasted for posting spoon feed questions you soon learn. And so do they. But you get them everyday. Which means members are always on the case. Have to say some are friendly and point newbs in the right direction while others are not so helpful. It can be frustrating to see the same questions everyday but we should help them. Make them feel welcome. We were all once newbies and probably posted some bs.

Putting a a restriction will only lead to 50 bs posts so that they can then post a thread. This would litter the forum with even more spam.

My simple solution would be to include in the welcome message a guide to the unwritten rules and maybe some of the best beginner posts. (I've seen a handful of great ones). Tell them not to post spoon feed questions. Start with these posts and then ask questions. This would help a lot of the newbs find what they need immediately.

I like the idea of a sub forum for beginners.

I actually dislike the rudeness that new or inexperienced IMers are faced with. It would be nice to see people just answer their questions rather than telling them off for asking. It really takes the same amount of effort.

this step may take dangerous decision for BHWin near future

I disagree.
Most of the new members don't understand and they are the always who are asking for help, which is normal.
For us its easy to find an old thread and take the info we need but for them its not that easy as they can hardly understand they own problem they are facing.

I do understand there are small amount of new account opening new thread to promote them self, but there are large number of newbies who really need our help(if we can provide it). So I don't believe its fair this rule to exist for sake for those people who really need our help.
I agree with you, Most of Noob's Not understand many things. So It's Good they open Thread.

"Hey wow." "Right arm." "That is so neat."

50 posts in a heartbeat.
Bad idea.

Disagree.

I've made some really useless threads over my time here at BHW. But by that, I also learned alot on the way. People telling me "Don't do that, do this instead".
I haven't come a long way in the IM but I'm sure more developed than I was for a half a year ago, thanks to creating threads, even though I don't have that much of a knowledge.

Speaking for many newbies here!
