Converting HTML to Wordpress - How effective is it? (In SEO terms)

I've heard that having a Wordpress powered website rather than an HTML platform is greater for your SERP, but is it really? (I'm thinking of converting but i'm low on money, is it a smart investment?) Share your thoughts.

I never perform a test to check this but I don't think it's true. More I think that's better to have a nice clean HTML website than a wordpress CMS (wordpress is also build on HTML so basically it's also a html website).

I would deffinatly go for a html whem possible due to the facts that it will load faster, you will have no html code errors and you can better arrange the H1, H2, H3... etc tags.

I totaly agree with you but if we do with any sites if you do good on site SEO then that will work all the sites.

Indeed that is true, I honestly think it is how you proceed the website with the right SEO tactics, and having the right onpage.

well a normal html site is a static site and wp is a cms for dynamic properties. WP is very SEO friendly and they offer lot customization levels. Also with the support of different kind of plugins ( free and paid ) you can save hell lot of time.

yes compare to HTML there are lots of design and theme availbe in only so it will be easy to use.

The idea is that HTML is cleaner (aka easier to crawl), but Wordpress is easier to manage and edit.

The best way is to create your site in WP, then convert it to Html, think there is a plugin to do this, or just hire a freelancer to do it for you.

HTML is a better option if, you know what are you doing.

Go with wordpress if you not have money/time to invest in html.

Actually, properly silo'd HTML will crush WordPress every time.

That being said... There are benefits to using WordPress...namely ease of use and the plugins for added functionality. But straight out of the box, WordPress is an SEO nightmare. If it wasn't there wouldn't be highly popular plugins specifically for SEO like WordPress SEO and All In One SEO.

If you're serious about tackling SEO up front prior to building a site, then begin with the end in mind.

Decide right now where you want your site to place in the SERP's for each specific keyword you are targeting. Then write out, on paper, exactly what you're going to need to get it there. Do your research first. Then build the site if the research tells you it'll be profitable.

I am not a fan of building sites backwards. ie: building a site and then figuring out how to monetize it.

A little bit of planning beforehand can save you hours/days/months/years of frustration later.
