[TUT] Finding niches & keywords the pro way - Mass Keyword find method

I've been an active reader of BHW forums for some years, but almost never contributed really usefull information, mostly because most info is already present at BHW.

While reading Jerry's SEOtraffichacks blog, I found a little keyword research gem, which I modified to make it even better. This method gives you:
- A fast way to find niches in Google
- Most detailed stats about competition and CPC (competition on a 1/100 scale)
- Filter between exact, match and broad keywords (yes, with this method it's still possible)
- It will cost you 3 minutes max.



Let's go ahead and see how it works:

1. Go to Ubersuggest.org and insert your keyword
2. Run the tool and it will give you around 350 results. You can run this tool multiple times for all the keywords you'd like to scrape. This tool scrapes Google suggest, use keywords like 'cheap', 'best', 'buy' or be creative and find keywords suited to your niche.
3. Click select all keywords and click 'Get' at the right.
4. Save all keywords in a .txt file and go to Google Keyword planner
5. Now, click the 3rd option: Get estimations for a list of keywords.
6. Upload your .txt file and click the blue button.
7. This is important: Segment to keyword and, if you'd like to see exact searches, click edit search types >> all ad groups >> exact keywords (this tool is german in my browser, so it could be named a little differently to what I'm calling it here).
8. This will give you a list of all keywords. Google doesn't provide any data so it seems, but don't be dissapointed: Select all keywords and press the Download button at the right.
9. Click the final option: Download to Excel (CSV). You now have the gold sitting on your computer.

Open the file and you will see all data: Keyword Avg., Monthly Searches, Competition and Suggested bid.

A nice little trick to calculate the most interesting keywords is to perform this formula =E2*(F2-1) (copy to all rows). This will formula will give you the number (in -) of the keyword with most searches * the competition.

Here's an example of what I mean:

Nice. Very unfortunate suggest doesn't provide adult keywords. Showed good results on everything except what I wanted lol.

Yeah, unfortunately there isn't a workaround for this.

I do this with keywordshitter, also then I throw it in the trial of longtailpro or market samurai and check the difficulty of the keyword to make sure if I have the tools to rank it.

For who don't know anything about excel. Add =E2*(F2-1) to Row 2 Column H. Use Fill Handle to copy to all rows

I've used the formula and now I have the numbers, but what exactly do they represent? You say the number of searches but we already know that. Can you please explain?

Great method, thanks. Can you explain though the formula =E2*(F2-1) idea. I've implemented it but what do the numbers in the results actually represent? If it's the KW competition then does it mean that the lower the number the less competition?
