[help] How should a backlink be formatted for SEO

Hey fellow black hatters,

This might be a really newb question but I've been searching around for answers for this and all I read is just people talking about adding backlinks but don't give examples of how the format should be added or where it should be placed.

Since I'm really new into SEO I want to know how a backlink should be added/formatted.

I've seen an example which is like this <url>keyword</url>

and then the other comment someone made is something called a naked url e.g "www.yoursite.com or site.com"

So far I've only been using a naked url, but should you use other types of formats and WHERE (web 2.0,bookmarking,blog commenting) should they be used and PLACED?.(In the middle of an article, before a comment, 2 thirds of the way up from an article).

There are some good articles on how you should choose your anchor text, the search feature is your friend.

If you are doing blog commenting, try to have a spinned article with some of the keywords you are trying to rank for. Or some people just do the "suck up" method by saying "great post...", "I loved this", "Your blog is very helpful", or something like that.

Thanks for the tip, it seems the last few replies are all about anchor text, would you say that anchor text is the one that should be used more often. Also do you place your anchor text at the end of the post?.thanks

This is what i'm still trying to find out, at the moment most replies seem to be about anchor text,I know you have to use variations but when and where is what I'm pondering over.
