hi everyone,

I want to know if there is any danger in sharing paypal email in this forum?
Someone wants to hire me to do something and he asked me for my paypal email however I don't know if it's OK to do that.

thanks,

How else would you get payed? There's three ways he could get in.

1. Stupid password
2. He asks you your "secret answer" and you tell him.
3. He phishes you.

Someone wants to hire me to create a testimonial video and asked for my paypal email and I'm afraid that he can do something crazy with it.

Just create a strong password and don't click on any links in any email that claims to be from paypal and you will be fine.

Its common practice to ask for your paypal email if you are expecting to get paid... otherwise your going to be using a different service or doing it for a trade or free.

Think of your paypal email as your postal address... if someone wants to send you mail then they ask for your postal address..... so if they want to send you money via paypal they ask for your paypal address. Its what distinguishes your account from everyone elses and easier to remember than numbers or a string or words etc :)

Many Moon's back I had a friend that did a very simple phishing scam by hiring people to do work and then asking them for their paypal email and password. Cos he had to log into thier account to pay them......... The worst thing is that it worked!

There is no actual way to hide your Paypal Email. Even if you create a site and stick a button on it, then once a user has paid you your email will be in the transaction details.
