Yes the VPS will make scrapebox work faster. Your internet connection would only connect you to the VPS, scrapebox would actually use the internet connection of the VPS, as well as the DNS of the VPS etc... so it would basically be more powerful and faster and allow you to get more done quicker.

I've got 50 private proxies that are v fast from 5 different IP ranges. I harvest about 100k links at a time and then wittle them down to about 2,000 removes dupes etc and only get around 100-200 success rate if that. Need a bit of help..

You just need to have a lot of varied keywords. Don't use keywords like:

ebay
ebay india
ebay canada

When you use "ebay", SB probably will scrape "ebay canada" also, as there is quite an overlap of results.

Whereas if you use keywords like:

ebay
buy online
medicine stores online

The results now will be quite varied, and you'll get more unique URLs/domains.

Yeah, you need to look at your footprint too. If you use just the scrapebox built in ones you will get WAY better success rates then that. What footprints are you using with your keywords?

And how could the simple reason why my account didn't get activated was I putting the wrong info? Are you nuts? I got them from the email Scrapebox sent me along with the Transaction ID.

When you said 6 lights are green then you submitted the wrong info, what does that mean? What am I supposed to look for? 3 green 2 red 1 yellow? I saw many different colors....

If its been over 12 hours then you submitted the wrong info or your firewall etc... is blocking scrapebox. Go to help >> test server connection, if all 6 lights are green then you submitted the wrong info.

Make sure you submit the email that you actually paid with, it will be the email that you received the "Thanks for purchasing scrapebox" email too. You can also look in your paypal and see what the primary email is.

Send that email in along with the correct transaction ID and you will be activated. I have never even had it take close to 12 hours.

No I am not nuts, thanks. You should only see green lights when you go to help >> test server connection. If there are yellows or reds or any color besides green you have a problem with something blocking scrapebox at some level or another, plain and simple. All kinds of things could be blocking scrapebox, anti-virus, malware checker, firewalls, Viruses, etc...

But I can't look up your license either, so its probably best if you contact scrapebox support so they can give you a definite answer of what is wrong. I mean if something is blocking scrapebox, they will tell you the same thing, you need to find it and add allow rules so it doesn't block scrapebox. But they can tell you if you submitted the right info etc...

You can load up all your files and save them as a project file, but somehow I don't think that is what you are asking.

On the one hand I'm trying to build authority for pages by getting links from .gov, .edu and .ac.uk (UK sites). On the other hand I'm trying to blast links going to links such as PR, articles and so on where I have exclusivity on that page (i.e. Directory would be a non exclusive link).

Here's a couple that I've used in the past:

site:.gov.uk inurl:[keyword] -"comments closed" powered by wordpress

Slight variations as above but for edu and ac.uk too.

On the keyword side of things I tend to chuck in 1-5 main targets, scrape those keywords, and then scrape the results so I end up with about 3,000 results.

It is highly suggested that you use public proxies for harvesting, since SE's tend to ban IP's quickly.

Well, if the proxy is valid (if it's private proxy, then it will be valid) then "all is good". But it's useless to scrape 10k URLs and get your proxies banned from SE"s for the next 2-4 hours.

Instead, use private proxies, and scrape as many URLs as you like.
