Massive Direct Scrapebox Blast on Brand New Website

did u harvest this huge blog linklist or u purchased AA lists from BHW or smwhere else ??

Nice experiment and share, thank you. It's fun just blasting away, feels soo good :D

Maybe a XRumer version of this would be nice too, if it hasn't been done yet.

Cheers

Great thread man. Keep it going.
I have a couple of questions:

1. How many pages do you have in Google index right now?

2. Do you post to blogs somehow relevant to your keywords (i.e. blogs scraped using your keywords) or just to all blogs available?

Thank you!

Hi again,

1.- How do you generate the list for lnks2rss? Do you run a scrapebox Link checker session AFTER the blast (to check which ones went live), or do you just assume that since you are using all AA blogs your exported Posted-OK list is enough to consider them as live links?

2.- Can you describe step by step the method for RSS submission you used here?

3.- Squid proxies: Can you tell us the average latency (in ms) for these proxies? or just their min and max access time

4.- One thing that brings me the ilussion that ive earned tenths of new backlink is the Recent Post widget of blogs. ie Recently posted to a classified ads blog and I got my link spread all over their 100ths of pages. YSE crawls them as valid backlinks, however we know these are no real bls and I dont even have 1 comment approved there. How to filter this recent-post widget results from YSE to have a more realistic notion of your site's backlinks count?

Thanks!

Hello Everyone,

Thank again for all the support, Thanks, Rep, and comments in general. It is all appreciated and it tells me that I am on the right path. I'm doing this all for the BHW community, so the more I hear from all of you, the better I can make this experiment!

First I'll do an update and then I will address comments and questions.

UPDATE:

So lots going on here. This next week should be pretty exciting I think. First with backlink counts. YSE continues to blow up. As of right now I am at 13,485 links in Yahoo. This number is growing by 1-2,000 everyday now and should for a while. This weekend will mark the beginning of another huge linking binge that I will talk about in a second.

Google still isn't showing a link count in Webmaster Tools so I will hold off on updating Google links till I have a reliable source of information. According to GWT I am showing up for 64 keywords, though I know that count is actually higher now as I have seen traffic come from keywords not on that list.

Just ran Rank Checker on my secondary keywords and saw broad improvements across the board. All keywords are up, new ones are now in the top 200. Some of my biggest jumps were from 180 to 32, 144 to 12, and 156 to 16. Incredible jumps. Yahoo has two new first pagers as well.

Late last night I received new content! Several articles that I will drip feed over the next two week or so. I needed this badly to expand this experiment. I am already going to order more content from my writer. I will post again later tonight or tomorrow when I actually put this next phase into action. It will consist of the content updates and a new linking binge. Stay tuned!

And now for questions and comments:

Are you afraid of losing your adsense account with this method? They can be so fussy... I am not sure whether they look at where the links are coming from or just the page itself, whether it's spammy or not.

I am not afraid at all. I am completely within the TOS. I am displaying original content, Ad placement is inside the TOS. As another poster said, Google can deindex me, but Adsense won't do anything.

did u harvest this huge blog linklist or u purchased AA lists from BHW or smwhere else ??

My lists are a combination of harvesting, purchasing, and trading. Probably 70/20/10 in that order.

Nice experiment and share, thank you. It's fun just blasting away, feels soo good :D

Maybe a XRumer version of this would be nice too, if it hasn't been done yet.

Cheers

That is a great idea, and I do own Xrumer. I have some other things boiling for all of you, but this might move up the list.

Thank you!

1. Right now I only have 6 pages index. This is only because of a lack of content. That will be improved this weekend. I will start to following page indexing as I have more content to report on.

2. I am blasting at all blogs. My only paramentor is that they are an AA blog. That is it. I am using general usage lists that I have built and continue to build. I add 1-3,000 new targets a day on average.

Hi again,

1.- How do you generate the list for lnks2rss? Do you run a scrapebox Link checker session AFTER the blast (to check which ones went live), or do you just assume that since you are using all AA blogs your exported Posted-OK list is enough to consider them as live links?

1. So when using links2rss (which I only did at the beginning to accelerated indexing of the site) I used SB to verify the links, then I put those in to links2rss. I then uploaded the XML files generated to a separate domain that I use for email, testing, and such and pinged all the files with pingfarm.com.

2. My RSS submission was pretty weak honestly. I invested about 5 minutes in it do to the lack of content. I simply went to Google, searched 'RSS Submission' or something similar, and added my RSS feed to several sites. I might do more now that I have more content, but probably not.

3. For latency of proxies, I just ran a test for this post. They average between 300-400ms. So pretty good. I have not had any issues with them so far and will continue to use them.

4. I don't know if I truly understand your question, but I will take a shot at it. If I miss the target, please just re-ask and I will do my best.

Right now I am not doing anything to scrub my back links. I am literally creating them by the tens of thousands. This open experiment is really about examining the 'shotgun' approach to link building. Can I win with an onslaught of links? So to answer your question (I think :-) ), am I filtering any of my links, no, I am not. Again, I am so damn busy just building them, that I am not assessing them for value, because this isn't about value, its about volume.

Thanks again everyone. I hope I answered your questions! Keep them coming. I am doing my best to update at least once a day. I will have a LOT more coming tonight (PST) or tomorrow.

As always, post your questions and comments. They are truly welcome.

Hello Everyone,

4. I don't know if I truly understand your question, but I will take a shot at it. If I miss the target, please just re-ask and I will do my best.

Hi

I understood hiq question better, let me explain. its an interesting valid question. Lots of blogs have widgets, some of these widgets are "latest post". If I understood this right, some blogs with lets say 500 pages will show his latest post in sidebar in the widget. What he says is that YSE will report this as for example 500 backlinks, but actually its just 1 backlink, what is happening there is that same widget is on all lest say 500 pages of that particular blog, which can lead you and YSE to think there are 500 backlinks, when its in fact just one. I think he meant something like that :)

My question is, how many proxies are you using for blasting? How many for scraping? Are you using same private proxies for both?

First I will answer the above question, and then provide a brief update.

Thanks maxlight for sheding a little more light on that question. From my understanding it would have to be a widget that was for the latest comment, since I am not posting full articles, but commenting on a post. If a widget was for latest post, it would have say 500 links to that post, but not 500 separate pages with my posted comment, leading to a multiplying of the comment link.

That being said, I do not have a way to check for this as YSE only displays the last 1,000 comments. I did go through these 1,000 and am not seeing anything that would show that one website is making up a huge portion of my links.

If someone has a technique for tracking this, please share here and I will use that technique against my links and report back on the results. It would be a interesting thing to look into!

As for your question on proxies, for posting I am using 10 private proxies. For scraping I use a combination of my private proxies as well as scraped. That list tends to be about 100+ long.

UPDATE:

I added the first of three articles that were written. I went to Google Adwords and generated a quick list of 31 corrisponding keywords that closely matched the content of the article. I then added these keywords as both meta tag keywords as well as WP tags. I also added those keywords to a separate list in Rank Checker so that I can follow the progress. Of these 31 keywords, none are ranked.

I then added those 31 keywords and the URL for the newly created article and added it into SB and started blasting with a list of 25,000 URLS. I have over a dozen lists of 25,000 that I will continue to feed into SB over the coming days.

In about a week or so I will report on traffic to see if adding additional content boosted traffic, which I believe it will.

As always, questions and comments more than welcome. Thank you to all of you who have posted, thanked, or rep'd.

bfellow thanks,

I didnt explain myself well on the #4. Ill try again;

Sometimes.. when I post on blogs that have the "recent comments" widget on... the link of your site will be spread all over the entire blog's pages (because the widget runs on all their posts, no matter if you left comment just on one). Then yahoo comes and crawls for backlinks... this site will appear tenths or sometimes hundreds of times on YSE as being backlinking to you... on each and every of their pages. When you open those pages, view source code, your link is not found there! It's just that at the moment yahoo went to crawl their content, your comment (with your link) was one of the latest comments all over the site... then it dissapears. (Well at least thats the reason I've been given to explain the existence of all those backlinks that in fact are thin air..)

Can you check if you have those kind of "ghost backlinks"?
It would be nice to figure out a way to filter them from the YSE results, thats what I meant, just to have a more precise backlink count..

hope I have explained better.. not sure if its clear now ;)

Exactly max, thank you.

I guess a quick way to spot these "ghost links" could be to check again the YSE backlinks list on the SB Link checker; the links with no match were certainly produced by this recent comments widget of some blogs.. (Note that not necesarily your comment had to be approved there.. Just by sending ONE comment, even if it went for moderation, it will apear on their recent comment widget, on all of their pages, spreading your link all over the site [temporarily]. But pls someone confirm better .. )

Unfortunatelly it seems that YSE would only let you export the first 1k backlinks list. But bfellow could try with 1k sample until we figure out how to bring the remaining list to the SB Link checker.. This will give you an estimated idea of the % amount of "ghost links" in your backlinks wallet. I am positive that you will find a good % of your bls were produced by these widgets!

The quickest way to spot them manually is to browse the source code of one blog; if your site is not there, then it was the freaking recent comment widget..

Any other ideas on how to do it?

Another question :)

Can you give us tips for what kind of comments you write, how you write them, etc so they have bigger chance to stick? Do you write 1 sentance generic comments like: "I liked that, you did good job explaning that, keep it up"? Can you give few examples and tips would be wonderfull :)

I was wondering, perhaps we are worried too much about this, won't YSE and Google when they crawl the same blog in question again, notice that your 500 backlinks are gone, and de-index atleast 499 of them, so in time you will get the real number....

From what I've seen that's pretty much what happens, but it can take a while for the backlinks to drop out. Until then, there is still the advantage of having a backlink on the front page of a website which, although temporary, sure doesn't hurt.

The guy said that he posts generic comments, with anchor text as Name which is always the same, his main kw. I asume he does not mention his site again in the comment itself.

I wonder if bfellow ever used the slow poster mode on this experiment?

A good source for generic comments is just go and visit the auto aproved blogs after the blast. They will have tons of generic comments.. there you can copy the most clever and quickly make your own list.

This thread is awesome, thank you for all the updates! Following in your footsteps, I've decided to give one of my 2-month old sites the same treatment, only I'm using xrumer instead of SB. So far I've ran about 30k "Successful" blog comments through to my main site for a variety of keywords (although xrumer frequently reports false positives when it comes to blog comments, so the real number may be significantly less). I'm running a 1mil list now, both for the links and to narrow it down to a Zlinkslist I can use for other projects.

Here's my problem: After getting all my successful links so far, I've ran them through both pingfarm and through linklicious at the maximum settings in order to get fast indexing. However, Yahoo site explorer is barely showing any increase in links at all over the last week, and I'm definitely not seeing much movement in the SERPS (positive or negative. I danced a little for a few days, but ended up a couple spots higher on the page I started on). Does YSE only show d0-f0ll0w links? Am I not waiting long enough?

So let me clarify. What your doing is submitting to a bunch of blogs with your keyword locked down tight to create a higher ratting on google. Sorry I'm new but I think I get the idea.;)

They can take up to 3 weeks to drop out from your YSE results. So yes, I think its important to determine which they are and the total amount of ghost links generated by those recent comment widgets. IMHO to bfellow's experiment it'd be convenient to determine the real quantity of backlinks that are going to stick.

Hey everyone,

Lots of activity in this thread since my last update which is awesome. First I will address the update, then I will address a couple of questions (one questions obviously stood out).

UPDATE:

Been pounding my new article with SB links focused on a group of long tail keywords that are closely related to the topic of the article. It is probably to early for it to really be picked up yet in rankings, but I am running rank checker right now just in case. Will report at end of thread.

YSE links continue to blow up. I have crossed the 15k mark and am at 15,183. This number continues to blow up like a rocket. GWT still does not update a link count, but they can be really slow sometimes. My queries and impressions in GWT continue to go up everyday now. Currently at 76 queries and 3500 impressions. I find these numbers are good to follow because it gives you an idea of exposure.

Moving forward I am going to continue blasting the shit out of my new article. Then I will run a blast against the whole site, then add another article and repeat.

Rank Checker finished and no new keywords. Kind of what I expected as it normally takes around 24-36 hours to see real movement. Will update in next post.

And now for questions:

Does YSE only show d0-f0ll0w links? Am I not waiting long enough?

This I have no clue. I honestly don't believe so, but if I am board sometime, I will re-approach this and find out. Personally I don't care if a link is do/no follow. I just build as many links as possible. I think it would be a huge read flag from an SE if all or a dramatically high % of links were do's. I just build, build, build.

They can take up to 3 weeks to drop out from your YSE results. So yes, I think its important to determine which they are and the total amount of ghost links generated by those recent comment widgets. IMHO to bfellow's experiment it'd be convenient to determine the real quantity of backlinks that are going to stick.

Ok, to this question kind of took over the thread (which is awesome, love open debate), so instead of quoting all the comments, I just quoted the last in the thread.

Two sides kind of developed on this 'Recent Comments' in YSE thing. One saying it was important, one saying it wasn't. First I'll say that I am on the side of saying it isn't important. In any experiment, these things come up that I think can be distractions. I am only concerned right now with cause and effect. Is what I am doing effecting my rankings and traffic positively or negatively.

So that is my position. Now, to look into the data and provide an open answer to both sides, I grabbed the tsv from YSE. One thing I thought was curious it it only provided roughly 980 URLS, and not 1,000 that YSE shows. Don't know why there is a descrepency there. I loaded them up into SB Checker and ran it. My initial guess was I would come out with roughly 700 links. It ended up being a little higher at 794.

Now what happened to the rest of the 980? Probably a couple of things. Someone disapproved a link, maybe I had a few non-AA's in my list or a site was switched from AA to non-AA, the 'Recent Comments' theory is certainly part of this as well.

I think over time these links will be scrubbed out, and a true count will develop. With anything you need repeat verification to arrive at a true number. It will be interesting to see which way the YSE number goes in the future. Right now I m building so many links that my gains will well out pace my losses, so I highly doubt that number will go done anytime soon.

Anyways, I hope I addressed this question to everyones satisfaction. As always, please post your questions and comments. I do my best to answer all of them! Thanks again for the lively thread and debate! :-)

The guy said that he posts generic comments, with anchor text as Name which is always the same, his main kw. I asume he does not mention his site again in the comment itself.

Re-read the thread and saw that I missed this one. If I missed any others, please repost them.

I have not used slow poster at all during this experiment. Part of the concept was to just 'hammer the shit' out of my target website, so I have kept it on fast poster mode.

As far as comments go, I have developed a list of comments over time that I continue to expand. I definitely look at other AA sites to get inspiration of my own comments. I have also collected some lists that people have released either here on BHW or other places online to add to my comments list. Right now it is at a few hundred different spun comments. Most are really generic. I just need something to shove in the comment box since my focus is purely on AA lists.
