Massive Direct Scrapebox Blast on Brand New Website

Ya great thread, bfellow ++rep

It's interesting too watching OP manage this thread
similar (perhaps) to how he/one would manage the
taut-string-of-the-SERPS (which, granted, unfolds
more slowly than a BHW thread...and prob pays more...).

I nominate you for Google With the Stars...!

Thank you all for all the encouragement. It is really awesome to see that this is helping people or at the very least is entertaining. :-)

I've received a ton of support from both comments in thread and PM. I appreciate all the comments and will continue to update this thread often as long as people are enjoying it, and more importantly learning! Which is why we are all here.

I quick note to all of you who PM'd me. If you had specific questions I answered them. I do not have the time to answer broad questions in PM or to write step by step tutorials on a one to one basis. BHW already has a TON of information on how to use Scrapebox. Just search! Please ask questions in the thread so that everyone may learn. That is the true purpose of this thread.

I have not decided yet whether to sell copies of the list that I am using. This is also just one of dozens of lists I have put together over the last several months. It needs some additional processing and clean up before I would sell it. So to everyone who asked if they could buy a copy, this is still pending. If I do sell, I will do it through the official BHW channels.

Ok, time for a quick UPDATE:

Google is being a little slow in displaying links that it has found, but Yahoo Site Explorer is updating on an hourly basis. At last check YSE has found 2,206 links as well as all pages to my site.

At the moment I am in #12 position in Google for primary keyword. I am also at #16 in Yahoo for same keyword, which is new. My secondary keywords have dropped outside of the top 200 which is all I track.

I have no blasts scheduled for today. I am looking into adding more content in the next day or two and then running a deep linking blast against a separate SB list that I have that focuses only on posting to pages with at least a PR1. Will update further when I proceed with this phase of the plan.

Now to answer questions from the tread. I think I found them all, but if I didn't, I am sorry. Feel free to repost.

What proxy set-up are you running?

Is the content unique in as much as you are doing this 100% yourself or are you outsourcing any of it?

I am using private proxies that I purchased online. I am currently using 12 private proxies when posting. I don't know if I got the best deal, so a question I will pose to the thread:

What is the best source for private proxies that allow SB traffic? I am very interested to get a referral from all of you, and hopefully others will find the answer to this question useful for them.

Is this scrapebox links only or any other type of links?
Are you spinning your anchor or is it exactly the same for all your comments?
How many links indexed by yahoo, Majestic Seo and Google webmaster tool?

Please answer some questions if you can thanks.

For linkings, yes I am only using SB generated links. The goal of my experiment here is to see how far you can go with only SB links. I hit it really hard early on and may adjust my posting strategy some what, but until I say that this experiment is closed, I will continue to only use SB for link building.

All of my blasts so far have focused on one single keyword for my anchor text, which is also my domain name. No spinning of anchor text. In the future when I move towards deep linking and adding more content, then yes I will be using additional anchor text, but for now it is all based on a single keyword.

One concept that I still don't get (new to all) is the mass pinging and rss submission. I understand the task is done to get G to index faster those backlinks, right?

1.- Is there a standar tool/service that is a must use for each tasks? what are they?
2.- which is more effective mass pinging or RSS submission?
3.- You said you hosted the XML lists on diff domain, why did they have only 100 links
each? Can't you just load one page with all your live backlinks for mass pinging?

Keep it coming!
thks

My pinging portion of this experiment is pretty straight forward. I take all of the successful, discovered links after an SB blast, then I add all of those links to links2rss.com. There I am able to generate any number of XML files that are basically a big list of links. I then upload those XML files to a separate domain name so there is a degree of separation from my 'money site' and ping them using pingfarm.com, which is a pretty nice little free service that I discovered through a BHW post.

I split them up to make it easier for Google and other search engines to grab all the links. It also reduces file size. A single list with over 100K links is pretty hard to work with.

How many unique domains are those 288k pages on?

On the 288K list I used, it is a little over 12,000 unique domains. PR's range from N/A to 9 on individual blog pages.

Who did you buy the site from? I don't think you mentioned that.

And this is some great information, thanks given for the share.

I purchased the site from a provider here on BHW in the services for sale section. I do not remember the providers name how every. I wasn't overly impressed with the quality of the site that I received and I had to do some work to it, but it was only $37. But because I can't give a recommendation, I'm not going to post the name of the provider here.

hey man can can you tell us how much adsense money have you earned with this site ? show us a screenshoot ? Thanks

As far as money made, I've made $9.47 since launch, so I've paid for my domain. Technically profitable I guess you can say since I already had the hosting. I'm not going to take the time to do a screenshot or really address adsense in any more detail that occasionally saying that it has earned to date as this thread is really about ranking in the major SE's using only SB. Talking to much about adsense really distracts from the major theme of this thread.

SO, I think I got to everyone's questions! :-) Again, if I missed one or you have a question that hasn't been asked yet, please post it in the thread and I will get to it when I can. Trying to update thread at least once a day. Sometimes more as my email dings at me when the thread is updated. And since I work on my computer 11+ hours a day 7 days a week, I tend to respond pretty quickly.

Thanks!

Great thread and I will continue to follow this with interest.

Cheers

Awesome thread. I'm subscribing. I've had both good and bad from what you are doing.

As far as proxies, Squid Proxies (Google it - I can't post links) works great with private proxies and is cheap. Put the coupon code bhwonly (I think that's it) in for 25% off recurring. I use them with Scrapebox and it slows it down a bit more than using just my home connection, but it increases my success rate.

Thank you for the tip pyrogod117. I will look into them and report back to the thread if I make the switch and how they work out for me.

Great thread. Definitely going to keep checking this one out. I have quite a few sites that are close to a year old that I have not really done anything with and they dont rank for the main keyword so I plan on doing some SB linking.

Im debating on doing 20-30 per week like one person was saying or doing a 10k+ blast and keep blasting.

Bfellow, this is awesome what you are doing here.

Just wanted to say thank you for doing this, it is people like you that have helped me understand what is possible with the power of the BHW think tank and all these great minds coming together.

Your comments and ability to answer all these questions kept me engaged to want to read the entire thread which I did.

Awesome experiment thanks very much for sharing with us!!!

It will be interesting to see how long the site stays ranked and how long it takes to come back and what has to be done to get it back... if it goes :)

hi, thanks for the thread, very informative :)

can you help me understand this part:

I then upload those XML files to a separate domain name so there is a degree of separation from my 'money site'

I'm not sure I follow, if I was to do this, to what domain should I upload? One of my own "dummy" domains? can you give an example, I'd like to understand this better, I've seen it mentioned in another thread but not explained...

First I want to say thank you to all of you who are supporting this little experiment! I'm doing this only so that we all can learn and BHW can grow. I am very glad that I am helping this wonderful community.

UPDATE:
My main keyword is holding at about 14th position right now in both Google and Yahoo. Just inside page 2. It has bounced some, but the bounce is far less violent, so I may be settling. I still have not come back with my secondary keywords. My gut is telling me now is the perfect time to strike with new content and high PR backlinking and deeplinking.

YSE continues to track new links. In fact if I refresh hourly I find the count has increased. I am up to 3,884 backlinks at the time of this writing.

I think my next step is adding new content on a drip feed and deep linking. I will keep you posted on the steps I take.

Please feel free to ask questions in the thread.

And now an answer to a questions, and an observation that I want to chime in one.

Great thread. Definitely going to keep checking this one out. I have quite a few sites that are close to a year old that I have not really done anything with and they dont rank for the main keyword so I plan on doing some SB linking.

Some of the lessons I have learned in over a decade of doing SEO professionally is that link velocity matters. Maybe I will be able to debunk it with this test, but I haven't yet, so my advice is to start with steady consistant blasts. If you can handle 200-300 a week, that is great. I think 20-30 is just to small. I would also focus on commenting on pages that have a PR. Even a PR 0 is better than PR N/A. But I would stick with PR 1+ if you have the lists to do it. This way you have a pretty good hunch that the link will be seen by Google and add some pop to your own rankings and page value.

Big 10K+ blasts are fun (Believe me I know :-) ) but I would still shy towards the conservative. Part of the reason I am doing this experiment is for me to debunk or reinforce some of these opinions on SEO that I have. Maybe by the end of this experiment I can firmly say blast away. Wouldn't that be fun? JUst my two cents. :-)

For XML files, uploading them to a dummy domain is fine. I just would not upload them to the domain that you are targeting with all those links. That leaves a HUGE foot print. There are still people that argue on whether to ping or not to ping. I've even thought about a hybrid theory of pinging a portion while leaving others for Google to discover, but I have not tested yet.

But for clarity, yes, upload your XML files to a domain that you are not targeting, then ping them there. Pingfarm.com seems like a pretty decent site. I think it is owned by a BHW member.

Thanks again for all the support and questions. Please feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them all. So far I'm doing pretty good I think!\

As always, if I missed a question, I am sorry and feel free to repost it.

Thanks!

QUICK UPDATE:

This is just a quick one. I decided to start chasing more keywords, so I went over to Google Adwords, put in my primary keyword, which generated a list of 266 other keywords. My particular primary keyword focuses on the price of a product, so I went through and grabbed 53 variations. I then grabbed a small list that I had built over the last 24 hours of auto approve blog pages, containing 3,851 pages, and took the three primary pages of my micro-niche site and let SB loose. This shouldn't take that long to process as it is a small list. I will probably run it again through a bigger list, say another 8K links. Then I will ping them to get them on Google's radar.

As I was writing this post I dumped in those 53 keywords to Rank Checker and am actually surprised at how well I am doing for so many of these keywords. No first pager's, but lots of second and third page listings. This will be great to see how well I can improve secondary keywords with just an SB blast.

I will report back as always.

UPDATE:

This is a pretty quick update, but some good stuff has happened. About 18 hours ago I ran two blasts. One was small, only about 3,000 links. These links focused on PR1 and higher pages. Once that was finished, I ran a second broad blast. This created an additional 18,742 verified backlinks. The difference between these to blasts and all the previous ones, is the anchor text. Before I was focused only on my primary keyword. These to blasts used 53 different anchor texts. All were pretty tightly focused on the main focus of the website, but different.

I found that I was ranking for about half of these 53 keywords. Now I am ranking for all of them. I also saw my rankings improve by about an average of a page for each keyword with only a couple dropping. Those that dropped were only an average of 3 spots and none pushed them to another page. I was able to pull a few first pager's out of it as well.

My link count has increased dramatically as well. In YSE, my link count has now increased to 5,109 and my pages indexed has increased to all pages of the site. In terms of links, this is a jump of over 1,300 in less than 24 hours, which is very impressive.

So far, I am seeing very good things with this experiment.

As always, if you have questions, please post them in the thread and I will do my best to answer them so that everyone can continue to learn.

this is great thread to read about different sb methods. There is much discussion about drip feed backlinking vs blasting the sites with huge number of links. Will look forward how this experiment goes.

I would suggest, that someone would try also other methods that are discussed here in BHW.
Like .edu and .gov links vs usual backlinks (with the same obl and pr)
I'm sure that this kind of experiments would give valuable information to beginners.

Also it would be good to know what kind of sb lists do you use.

For the big sb lists to you sort out pages with high obl, adult and gaming sites, malware etc.

I'm using a couple of different lists. My big blasts are against non-specific auto approve lists. OBL vary depending on page, but these are pages that are pretty fresh and generally have a fairly low OBL count. PR ranges from N/A to 8.

In my last blast I used a smaller list that have a PR range of 1-8.

I do have lists that include both .gov and .edu links. I have another niche site that I am finishing up this evening. Just received all the content today from my writer. If there is interest from others, I'll start a second thread that focuses on a much more conservative approach with SB that focuses on the use of .edu, .gov. and high PR links in lower volume. I also think it would be interesting to compare the results of both.

What do you all think?

Wanted to let everyone know that I tried Squid Proxies out and so far they are rocking! For 10 proxies, using the coupon code 'bhwonly', it cost me only $18 a month. I signed up using Paypal and had my proxies and was actively using them with a SB blast with in 5 minutes. Doesn't get better than that.

What's even better is I am already seeing a 10-15% increase in my success rate in posting. And considering I build tens of thousands of links at a time, this jump is huge.

Thanks again for the tip pyrogod117. I highly recommend http://squidproxies.com

Wow awesome thread!

Quick questions. How many words are there on your home page? I've tried between 500 and 1500, doesn't seem to make any noticeable difference.

Also, are all your header tags keyword stuffed with the main keyword? Or no?

Quick questions. How many words are there on your home page? I've tried between 500 and 1500, doesn't seem to make any noticeable difference.

Also, are all your header tags keyword stuffed with the main keyword? Or no?

Thanks!

As far as your questions are concerned:

1) My front page currently has a full article on it, widgets for categories, pages, and recent posts, and three adsense blocks at the top. Later this week when my writer delivers more content, I will adjust it to show just snippets of each article with links to each page. I want all of my pages with Adsense on them to have at least 500 words of content. This gives Adsense some thing to return ads against and it keeps you inside the TOS.

2) My meta tags in my header are all unique to each page. I make sure to have a focused group of keywords, a solid description using my target keyword, a title tag that repeats my H1 tag for the article. I also use WP tags for every article as well. These do help when used right.

Just a brief UPDATE:

YSE continues to show the finding of new links on a constant basis. Since a couple of hours ago (3 maybe?) It has found over 600 new back links, bring my total up to 5,769. Still waiting for Google Webmaster Tools to catch up and give me some insight into the number of links I have in Google. **EDIT: Just did a search in Google using the 'linkdomain:' command. Google is registering over 78,000 backlinks. I thought the command was 'link:' but that returns nothing for sites that even in Webmaster Tools shows thousands of backlinks. I hand verified several of the results and they are all correct. So rather this is a false positive or correct I am not sure. But since I have built more than 78,000 backlinks, I think this is correct.**

I started another blast focusing on 53 secondary keywords. Will build somewhere between 11,000 and 13,000 links today.

One thing I did pick up on is that I am now ranking on the 7th page for a HUGE primary one word keyword. It is a keyword with over 300,000 exact match searches and a $5+ CPC. I will keep you all posted on this keyword as it would be the Holy Grail Keyword.

As always, post your questions and I shall answer (or at least make a valiant attempt!) :-)

I would also be interested in this... I'm new to sb.. im pretty amazed at how easily you are getting these links... do you buy these lists from some place?? i'm not having too much success with the harvester...
