Hey Loopline,

Every time I interrupt a harvest I crash and get this error message.
Access violation at address 005CB121 in module 'scrapebox.exe'. Read of address 0003FFFC.

Any ideas?

Also is there a way to get SB to only scrape the top 5 or less results? Every time I try to set it to less than 10 it reverts to 10. Im wasting valuable scrape time on duplicates.

You can go into your scrapebox folder >> configuration >> scrapebox.ini

edit that and look for :

[Engines]
under that look for:
Results=10

Change the 10 to 5 so
Results=5

save the file. Then launch scrapebox. It will only harvest 5 results or whatever you specify.

However if you go typing anything into the results box in the main Scrapebox GUI then its going to revert back to 10 until you change it again.



As for the crash it seems to me that its a windows issue. Its trying to use a memory address that windows has either assigned to another program is no longer letting scrapebox use. Of course the results are stored in the harvester_sessions folder of your scrapebox install so you aren't losing the results, but I understand that could be annoying. I would try to delete that install of scrapebox and redownload:

Make sure you restart your PC too. If that doesn't work just go down to your local computer store and get a stick of dynamite and a new pc. The new PC is for scrapebox the stick of dynamite is for the old pc, but you will need to get to a wide open field to "fix" the old pc. hehe.

In reality though, scrapebox is just trying to interact with windows and widnows is telling it no, you can't do that and then it crashes. From what I know.

0.40 MBPS Download
0.44 MBPS Upload

while cnet says 538 kbps

Scrapebox will run on that, but you are going to need to keep the connections way down and the timeouts up for good success. Meaning like 10 connections maybe 20. maybe 5. Its going to take a little while to hit 10,000 blogs on like 5 connections, but only a matter of hours. I mean if you started it and went to bed and got up 8 hours later it would likely be done with 10,000 blogs at 5 connections. Probably less time then that.

You could of course always rent a VPS. I mean on my dedi server I could plow thru 10,000 urls in 3-7 minutes. So scrapebox is capable, but your pc/inet speed is going to be the limiting factor.

Since a week or so I'm a proud owner of SB. I have been getting used to it slowly and been working my way up to finishing reading this awesome thread and have finished watching all the video's from Franky and Matt and reading the guides. A lot to take in

Anyway, great and fantastic tool. Possibilities are truly endless.

I still have a couple of questions though, I'm hoping you are willing to help me with:

1. Why is it that someone uses f.e. -"captcha" or -"login to comment" in their footprint, when you can filter those out with the blog analyzer? Is it so you won't have to analyze that many blogs when finished harvesting?

2. I really have a problem with SOCKS. If I have a list of socks proxies and add a S in front, shouldn't SB automatically recognise it as a sock? Because if I load a file with proxies with a S in front, it won't recognise it when I'm already in the manager. The only way I can get SB to recognize SB proxies as socks, is to add them in the main windows in the "Select Engines and Proxies" section, Click Modify and then select "Mark All As Socks" and then go to the manager to check them. But I would like to be able to load a file with socks in the manager with a "S" in front and check them that way. Currently, I'm not able to check and/or use http proxies and socks proxies at the same time. I'm hoping you all still understand what I mean, lol

3. I still don't know for which features and/or addon's:
a. ... google checked proxies are needed (I know you don't need them for posting but do need them for PR checking). But other than that?
b. ... socks can be used?

guys, i have problem.

i own scrapebox and sometime i transferred from my PC into my netbook, and for this month i transferred it into my netbook.

i have subscription internet connection with 1 of ISP in my country, and its been almost 3 years. and now i am living with my parents which different than i am living before ( with my grandma ).

ok so my ISP didn't have too much speed connection that i need, and it goes to slow to just use scrapebox, and fortunately in my parent house, there is Wifi that everyone could connect with them and they can make subscription for each month. so, i decide to subscribe with them in a 2 days ago. and the problem was show up.

when i connect into Wifi, i can open scrapebox, its stuck in activating licence and an error message was show, said unable to activating. its happen over and over.

but when i connect with my ISP, no problem to open scrapebox and i can use it normally.

when using Wifi, everything was good, the connection, the signal that i got, same netbook.

did any one here have the same problem like me? how to solve this? FYI, i don't ask the person which manage the Wifi because he is really really busy, and he's the only one who manage that Wifi.

my plan is, i want unsubscribed with my ISP and continue using that Wifi because the connection was faster than my ISP.

1. Did you run the 'check links' bit to make sure your posts actually exist as akismet kills lots of the links shown as 'successfully posted' (in wordpress). - Most of your 'successful posts' are probably not there.
2. Also takes a while for links to get indexed unless you ping them yourself etc.

Define ran a search with SB? Also as mentioned links take a while to pick up sometimes. Ensure they get found with bulkping+rss and all that crap.

My Proxy problem has resurfaced.

So I can't afford private elite proxies lately so I was using proxyfire and scrapebox to scrape shit tons of free ones and filter them down.

In SB I was using the custom footprint search suggested ran against the 1000 most popular words in the english language as keywords. I got around 6000 urls to scrape proxies from. I than used these urls in the harvester and this resulted in 64,000 or so uniques. Now I am testing them am half way through and dont have one working proxy so far.

What the hell?

Sorry, I don't know anything about scraping proxies from anything but the default that comes with SB.

I put in a list of keywords and scraped for WP blogs. Then posted to them and typically I would get anywhere between 500+ to over 2,000 as I got better at it. And when I checked my links with the addon, I would see as many as 250 right after I posted. So I guess they are all getting deleted, even though I am spinning my comments.
