Hey, It has been more than a month since I applied for a license transfer of my scrapebox and yet my copy is still not activated..
My paypal account was hacked and my copy of scrapebox was stolen. I have already sent you couple of mails regarding this problem.
I have also sent you a photo proof with the transaction id...

I'm really not happy with the after sale service..
Pls activate my license.

The mail was sent from [email protected] to [email protected]

one and a half month and still waiting for the activation.. Either activate my license or answer my question

sweet - is scrapeboard on general release yet ?
i see the bhw buy discount button works
the standard buy button doesnt ?

Updated SB to v1.15.12 today and now it says it can't find the activation. I try to re-activate and it says 'we have not been able to submit your activation request'. I go to the site and the server times out. Anyone else having this trouble?

Thx,
ed

Yep same here with a transfer to a dedi and some of the same problems on a few vps's

Ok its working now :D Thanks SF!

Got a question though. Trying out my SB on my new dedi but for so far i don't see any better results.

When i set for instance the threads to 400, like suggested here before, it runs but not faster. after 30 secs or so it seems it skips hundreds of blogs at failed.

Anybody with dedi experience with some thoughts about this? Am i using to less of proxies? I almost think i am...

My specs:

  • Intel Core I7 860 8X2.8 GHZ
  • Quad Core
  • 2X1500 GB Hard Drive
  • 12 GB DDR3 RAM
  • 1000mbit Uplink
  • 64 IPs

Thanks!

@SF.

About the updates; haven't seen any from past few days.

V 1.15.12 is out, if you haven't closed down scrapebox since it came out it won't show that the update is available. However you can just hit update and it will work.

No Scrapeboard BHW is "unofficially" launched and is functional, but I think there are some finishing touches that SF wants to add before final launch.

Try closing downscrapebox and/or restarting your pc. It just sounds like it can't connect to the server.

The servers weren't down. Pingdom 1 minute monitoring shows no downtime for the past 10 days:

I use many dedi servers and definitely notice a difference. I can turn up the threads with 1 instance going to 500 and see it run much faster, depending on what I am doing.

What OS are you running? I always run Win 08 R2 64bit and if when I get a server they give me anything but that, I request that they reimage it, and they always do. That setup is not required, but its my preference. Scrapebox is written "basically" with the Win 7 kernel so if you have a choice win 2008 is a better option as its closer to what scrapebox is written in. Im not a programmer so I probably said that wrong, but 08 is the ideal choice if your deciding between 03 and 08. Although it will run on 03.

Back on point - There are a lot of links in the chain that could cause issues. If your proxies are not able to handle the incoming connections then that could cause you issues. I use Your Private Proxy proxies and I can pound the life out of them from multiple servers and they run flawlessly.

Your gigabit line (at least at face value) should be more then able to deal with the connections. If you using a really really old OS on your server it could be that all your ports are open and waiting, although I haven't ever experienced that on a server.

Now depending on how much you are doing at once is another thing. If you have 3 instances running at 400 connections with that sys specs you are going to likely max out your processor, at which point there won't be enough resources to process all the requests. This will probably noticeable by the system seeming "sluggish" as your moving around doing things and trying to change from window to window on the server. You can also, of course, pop open task manager and look at process usage.

There are lots of variables. For isntance - I can run more fast poster connections without maxing out my proccessor then I can run in the link checker. Especially when using muliple websites in the websites.txt file while link checking. The more urls in teh websites.txt file for link checking the more the processor usage/slower its going to run.

Just for reference on your setup:

You have way plenty of ram for that proccessor. Your processor has 4 cores and it hyper threads, so it emulates 8 cores by multi tasking, but it doesn't have the power that a true 8 core processor would have. I have a machine similar to yours.

quad core 3.0Ghz, hyper threaded so 4 real cores that act like 8 and show up as 8 in task manger.
8GB RAM
1Gbps

I can't effectively run more then 3 instances of scrapebox on it. Running about 200-250 connections each. At that point I have the processor power pegged at 100%. It varies some based on what I am doing, but if we are talking about faster poster and link checker, which I "assume" you are.

Where as on my Dual Quad core, which is:
8 physical cores hyper threaded at 16 virtual cores 2.26Ghz
12GB RAM
1Gbps

I was plowing away today running 7 instances at 200 (1400 total connections on 50 private proxies) connections each with fast poster and plenty of resources left over. (only using about 40% of processor) Then I kicked over to link checking at 200 connections each and 5 instances with 64 urls in the websites.txt file. That pegged out my processor at 100% for the past hour and thats 1000 connections total.

On the posting I was hitting about 300Mbit worth of actual bandwidth usage at 40% processor and like 3GB RAM and 1400 connections. (with 50 private proxies)

Then on the link checking I am hitting 100% processor at 1000 connections and 5GB of RAM usage and about 125Mbit of bandwidth usage. (no proxies)

Those are averages over a time period (roughly). See how dramatic of a difference there is? So weak links can be:

Processor
RAM
Connection Speed
Proxies
Operating System

Any any of them can be weak links at any given time depending on what you are doing. The best way to figure it out is to watch it as you do different things, think it thru and understand how it works and what is happening.

Also its good to keep in mind that most things in Scrapebox are single threaded, meaning they can only use 1 physical core anyway. - this is straight from the developer so you can take it to the bank.

Now from what I can see, it "appears" ( and I use that loosely, cause I don't know this for sure) that the fast poster and link checker are multi threaded so they can use multiple cores, while most other things are single threaded. Don't take this one to the bank. :)

Also worth noting is off and on peak times. On peak time for servers is 6am to 6pm. off peak is of course 6pm to 6am. Now there are different time zones and other things at play here, but it goes for most servers. So if you were working with sites that are mostly in the US and your server is in the US. Then during the day all of those servers are getting hammered by regular people browsing the web. That means they will be slower to respond to your request to load them and comment on them or link check them via scrapebox. It also means that your network provider is busier as well and has higher network congestion. I don't care how fast of a line your on, if your host is busy its going to slow you down a little.

For example. During the day today I link checked 200K urls. 50K urls each spread over 4 instances of scrapebox on a 1Gbps line 8 core server. Tonite at 1am I also link checked 200K urls, again 50K urls each spread over 4 instances of scrapebox, same connection, same server. Today it took over an hour to link check these. Tonite it took 14 mins.

Hopefully that helps you make so informed decisions and understand what your seeing and how it works together.

loopline casts *unburying of a dead horse* - one dead horse rises to the grounds surface. Commence beating of dead horse. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flogging_a_dead_horse)

Don't post your transaction IDs in the forum! Else your license can be stolen and in general just can create hardship for you.

Loopline,

Can you explain Pingmode to me? It's the only thing I never played with.. I dont even know what it is or what it does or how etc..

Sure, ping mode is simply a traffic inflation method, while RSS ping is submission to RSS aggregators.

So PING: When you load up for files it simply pings the list of websites you tell it to and it gives the referrer that you tell it to and it uses a proxy. The goal here is to inflate traffic counts in traffic logs. Cause the recieving site will see the ping, see where it came from and check the ip to see if its unique and see it as "visit" to the site and count it in logs.

The purpose would be if you had some sort of site that ranked you based on traffic you could artificially inflate your ranking or something like that.

Also if you were trying to sell a site you could fake traffic logs etc...

RSS PING: Allows you to take a list of your RSS feeds and submit them to RSS aggregators, which will then be crawled and it will index your links. Also it will count as a link from the aggregator, so a slight link juice bump.

Also if you had a particular place that you wanted to display your content you could essentially ontify them of your RSS feed when its updated and then they would index or syndicate your content. Stuff like that.

Is it me or this thread is not moving beyond page 208?

I want to ask how much time does scrape box take to post on
1000 or 10000 auto approve blogs

does the speed varies of no of anchor text or websites increases?

Edit:
I have a desktop with windows XP Will it run on it without any problem

I run SB on a Dell Dimension 4550 with 700mb of ram installed. It works no problem for me. I do however have a decent cable hookup for my area.

I get 9 mb up and 31 down on speed tests. I know for people in other countries that is shit but here it is pretty good for 40 bucks a month.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but my impression is SB relies more on RAM and Network speed rather than processor speed.

Also if you can afford it a decent VPS to run SB on is what ? $15 a month/

hi thanks
how do i test my connection speed
how much does it take to post 1000 or 10k blogcomments?

I have 795MHz 2 GB ram
1.73 Ghz Processor
XP SP2
with 2 Gb free space in C drive

speedtest . net says
0.40 MBPS Download
0.44 MBPS Upload

while cnet says 538 kbps

I want to buy it
if this runs on my machine.period.

I own backlinker jst wanted to compare speed.

Your connection speed is kinda slow.. I would ask SB support if that will do it. Did you have other shit running when you tested it?

The specs on your machine are fine but 2gb diskspace free? Is that a typo or do you really only have 2 gb disk space free? You know you can delete porn after you download it right bro?

Hey Loopline,

Every time I interrupt a harvest I crash and get this error message.
Access violation at address 005CB121 in module 'scrapebox.exe'. Read of address 0003FFFC.

Any ideas?

Also is there a way to get SB to only scrape the top 5 or less results? Every time I try to set it to less than 10 it reverts to 10. Im wasting valuable scrape time on duplicates.
