Do Facebook pages Actually work for SEO?

Hey all,

Does anyone know if facebook pages actually work for SEO in google?

I've heard a bunch of stuff about it.

I heard that:

Put the keyword in your page title
Get as many fans as you can - the more fans the better
Put keywords in your Page Tabs
Put keywords in your page 'info' tab
etc. .

Has anyone ever seen a facebook page rank for a term you were searching for?

Any examples?

Can Facebook work for SEO?

I don't get any traffic from google by doing all of the above, but I do get a lot of traffic from facebook because of it. A lot of people use the search box in facebook, and if they type your keyword, you will get them from there.

that was the other thing i forgot to mention. facebook search.

when you do that are you using your keywords in the title of your pages and specifically targeting something? Or it just sort of happens naturally based on the market you're in?

I'll second the traffic from within Facebook is rock solid, but I've also had Facebook pages rank very well in Google organic search results. A good keyword stuffed title works wonders.

I have seen many Facebook fan pages ranking for keywords mostly brand names. I don't recommend Facebook fan page as a part of your SEO because fan page may outrank your site!

I have been using "exact match" for my page name. Seems to work pretty well. Although the money site attached to it is an exact match too.
