My facebook money making idea!

Aren't there some CPA offering for charities? I remember seeing some on CJ that you get people to donate $xx and you get a commission for that. I think it would be good to use those CPA offers

Um... personally I couldn't do this. Even if you donate 25%... it just feels kinda shady.

"Your dollar makes a difference*
*mainly for my own personal wealth though..."

I can see if you took some to cover cost (and some for even time invested), but to take majority profit feels wrong. But do what you must, I just believe in karma (and it's a b*tch from what I can tell). Just state things upfront and clearly. That way, those who donate at least have that warning.

OK people - I hate to rain on your parade of morality, but here's the thing:

If the op discloses the exact terms of the offer in some sort of "terms and conditions" page, or maybe right even up-front at the point of submission then what issue is there really?

Let's say I say:

"Today you have an opportunity to help homeless people in New York City. We don't accept cash donations directly, but if you complete this simple survey one quarter of every dollar earned via the survey will be directly donated to NYC homeless shelters." DONATE HERE BUTTON

So people can make their own minds up? I don't think it's fraud, and I don't think it's immoral at all. It's a great idea - HOWEVER - it might actually be illegal. Check your local, state, and federal statutes before proceeding.

P.S. I'm not a lawyer, so please don't misconstrue what I've said above as legal advice. All I was saying was that it's a simple idea that might work.

Honestly , all of those guys who are telling you that you arent donating enough or you are being fucked up . Dont listen to them, he is not doing fraud or anything alike. Yes it is blackhat but let me ask you something if he goes through and does it and comes back saying he made an enormous amount of money doing that i bet a lot of you gusy would jump on the bandwagon too.

You do have to be very careful legally what you do in this type of situation. We are making a number of ads/groups on facebook to do some promotional material and do charity drives and there are rules to be aware of. Example, you may be subject to auditing/IRS investigation if you do not do it properly. Just be sure to have a legit proof of donation and if you need to email blast a bunch of random people there are other ways of collecting a more targeted list. :)

OK... I have not gone through with this yet, but I do not think that it is in any way illegal. People are not actually giving me money or donating. They just do a cpa offer. And it's not like I tell people that all of the money goes to charities. Here is exactly what the website says:

"A portion of the money that is raised from this site will be donated to various charities. It is very easy for you to help. You do not have to donate anything, just take a short survey. Through affiliate programs, each survey that is completed will generate a small amount of money. "

And if I make alot of money, then I will still be giving alot to the charities, even with 25%. So everyone ends up happy.

Unless you clearly say at your website that you give only 25% to charity, it's a scam and this is blackhat, not scamhat forum...

If you are willing to take the risk, then I do not see much validity to people saying it's immoral, or will adversely effect your karma. I agree with you. If you could generate $100,000 and donate $25,000 of it to charity, then that is a tremendous boon to them. There must be good karma in that.

Additionally, if you think about it that's pretty much the way wealthy people see the world. Of course you make money - it was your idea. You created it. You did the work. Is your compensation fair? Maybe not - but it's your business. Not to worry my friend - if the idea is successful you know people will jump on the bandwagon.

Time is running out on this one now. Good luck!

It would be kinda weird to fill a "Get a free IPod" survey coming from a charity site imo

Unless you're actually donating to charity, don't you feel that this is pretty immoral?

I mean there's blackhat, and then there's this. Using the name of those in need to profit is a damn sight shady.

Define morality please, and don't quote any religious texts.

I dont believe there is anything immoral about this. In fact I'm surprised so many people object so quickly to this. I think the idea is sound... you just have to cover your butt meaning you may need to do some research into how "charities" are run and which laws you need to watch out for.

Bottom line is, if you donate money to a cause, you are helping that cause. Its better than them not getting any money at all.

I'd make sure to disclose how much is being donated. Maybe even disclose how cpa networks pay people to fill out surveys.

Companies do this all the time. Most "feel good" and "help people" campaigns put on by businesses are some variation of this.

I say find the point where you can still sleep good at night and draw your line there. Personally mine would be at a higher % donated maybe 50%.

what id the idea of "charity" was just completely taken out of the picture. are there any sites out there that let users share CPA offers and get $ commission back in return? a portion could be paid to them as FB credits... anyone know if anything like that exists?

There's nothing wrong with this method at all. The point is to generate money for a cause. If you feel bad about not actually donating money to the cause, then make one up. And even if you did use an actual charity that you say its going to, how can anyone prove you didn't actually give them the money? Im not saying its the best method, but it will work. It's your money that YOU generated.

I'm having a difficult time getting people to go to the site. I've used twitter, posted on other pages, digg, forums, and more. Not even one click yet. I think people trust their friends when they suggest pages, so can you guys help me out? I'm sure alot of you have multiple facebook accounts with lots of friends. The pages is called "Help Support Those in Need" on facebook. Or, what other methods could I use to get traffic?

Funny how you all bash him, use the search function, there is an actual method layed out using these techniques and you all loved it. Don't bash the noob when you lick the arse of a reputable member.

Is this some kind of joke? Never seen something more stupid, lieng to people that you will donate to those who don't have food, who will die, and already dieng from starvation, but you end up taking 75% to yourself? If I were you, and I donated $1 and I found out about what you were doing it, I am not kidding, I would sue you.

Donate at least 90% (10% goes to you for your work) and I believe that's fair.

Do you think it's fair to tricking people? How would you feel if you donated let's say 1million, and only 250,000 ends up going to charity?

In case you haven't read, people don't DONATE or PAY anything. All they do is complete a cpa offer. So people are not being lied to at all.

This is bad karma points and is not blackhat, it's dumb hat. Fooling people will only end up pissing the wrong person off with alot of time and finances to sick pitbull attornies on you. There are easier ways to do things without risking your freedom. Stop equating Blackhat with fraud.

There are actual brilliant methods available to make coin without fooling people or risking your freedom. Stop thinking your doing Blackhat methods when in reality you are doing criminal methods, big difference one gets you paid the other gets you incarcerated.

As we move more into the information age more and more Internet Police type of organizations will start to surface and you will start witnessing in the news about people gettings slammed hard for things we used to take for granted online.
