Need a Suitable Payment Gateway

Hello everyone,

Pretty new here.

I have a website where we share or sell digital content. Our content is often locked behind a paywall. To access more content after consuming the free ones, users need to purchase our site's digital currency. Normally, we use PayPal for that. But we have received DMCA a few times, and in the end, lost our PayPal account. We always complied with the copyright requests, but the PayPal ban still happens. My personal paypal somehow got targated just recently, too.

So I am looking for a suitable payment gateway. We can't use Stripe as it's not available in my country. Many payment gateways are hard to integrate in sites as well, with the system(a little gamification-like) I mentioned. We make sales around $35-40k per month. We also need to pay the staff per month.

So need something that can:

1. Handle $35k without a ban,

2. Doesn't have too much fee(at most around paypal or stripe),

3. Possible to integrate into our gamification-like system(for now, we are using paypal com/webapps/hermes/)

4. A little less worry about copyrights and bans.

5. If anyone knows of any service that can hide my direct PayPal information on the site from users who pay me, that would be good too, something that accepts payments in my stead and then sends it to my PayPal automatically.

if ur content gets DMCA hits, no mainstream gateway will ride with u long. pp + stripe always nuke first. $35–40k/mo needs split infra: offshore high-risk processors, alt PSPs (crypto gateways, payoneer bridges, some asian providers). fees higher than pp, but safer than shutdown. don’t anchor to 1 pipe run 2–3 processors, drip volume, so if 1 freezes u still pay staff. if u need paypal cover, only way is middleman merchant of record service, but they take cut + not stable either.

Still any other recommendation? Not really asking for any thing full proof, just better than PayPa. Cause in my line, PayPal is most common, and so is PayPal accounts getting banned. Never really seen any other payment gateway or any other payment gateway getting banned for sites like mine. It's like the copyright holders are more used to banning/reporting the PayPal accounts. DMCAs also don't come that frequently, mostly around once or twice a year; even then, they don't always target PayPal either.

Yeah, but less than 10% of our users use Crypto, most get intimated from Crypto to even try it out.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you mean $35-40k from everyone per month. If that's the case try gumroad. I use it for a similar purpose. It's also a MoR

You could use stealth paypal accounts, you'll need to split the payments and but anything other than paypal will probably cause drop in conversions.

I had the same issue when I started selling $20k to $30k per month, but then suddenly my PayPal account also got banned. They asked me for a lot of documents, which I provided, but still permanently limited the account even after the documents and questions. Anyway, I managed to get my account reinstated.

We've developed a working cloaking method for bypassing payment processor moderation, but limited to wordpress/woocommerce. Paypal can be more tricky, but not impossible. What platform / architecture are you hosting your site on?

We've developed our own site from scratch, not using cms like WordPress

Another option could be high-risk friendly merchant accounts or international payment service providers like Paymentwall. They can be more lenient than PayPal but often come with higher transaction fees and stricter onboarding. Most of these also provide robust APIs for custom integration.

For digital products with DMCA risk, skip mainstream gateways because they’ll flag you fast. Go with a high-risk friendly processor, and keep a crypto backup for stability. Also consider stealth PSP setups or cloaked front-ends if your niche attracts too much compliance attention.

If you have a working payment gateway account, for example unused Stripe/paypal account etc then it's possible, but involves development both onsite and offsite. What's your turnover?

My turnover is high, not less than 50K month. I Could set up some new PayPal and stripe as the old ones were suspended already.
