Homepage Not Indexed by Google

Hi everyone,

I’ve been facing a persistent issue for the past month: our website’s homepage is not being indexed by Google. While other internal pages are appearing in search results, the homepage is completely missing.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

• Verified on-page SEO elements (meta tags, canonical URLs, content quality)
• Checked technical SEO (robots.txt, sitemap, crawlability, indexing settings)
• Reviewed off-page SEO and backlinks
• Inspected everything in Google Search Console – no errors or warnings, and the page is marked as indexed

Despite all this, the homepage still doesn’t show up in Google search results. I’ve tried multiple fixes but nothing has worked so far.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue or have suggestions on what else I should check? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That’s a tricky one if Search Console says it’s indexed but it’s not showing, it’s likely a canonical or relevance issue rather than a technical one. Try slightly refreshing the homepage content and title (to trigger re-evaluation), check for duplicate versions (HTTP/HTTPS or www/non-www), and build a few strong internal links pointing to it. Sometimes, a small update and re-request for indexing can get it back in the results.

Is this a expired domain ? Check the history of the domain, it might have some bad backlinks which has resulted in this.

It is a penalty on the website. You should keep uploading more content and billd backlinks. When the authority of. The website increased, Google might remove the penalty.
