I am not familiar with them at all, but I have been seeing that for some people who used a press release, their website would show up on Google's AI Summary. I have no experience with press releases, so any information would help.

It really depends. When was the last time you saw something pointless (not irrelevant to you personally, just generally pointless) get any coverage, let alone a press release? Unless you do some real pioneering or you're website/blog is especially interesting, reputable outlets won't even give you the time of day. And it has to be reputable outlets, otherwise if it's just John so-and-so's news outlet, Google isn't likely to consider it for summaries.

PR do bring a major boost in website performance. Here is my two cents
- use excellent content which aligns with your marketing goals
- focus on good pr website only


I tested a few free pr websites, does not bring much of results. I try to avoid those.
