We have provided a lot of press releases for our clients, and the results have been quite positive. In many cases, their brand got featured on high-authority news outlets, which helped boost trust and visibility. Some even saw their sites mentioned in Google’s AI Overview/Summary after the release. While a press release alone won’t skyrocket rankings, when combined with SEO and link building strategies, it’s been a strong credibility and authority booster for our clients.

Press releases can still be useful if your goal is visibility, especially when they get picked up by reputable sites. They tend to work best when the release is genuinely newsworthy and distributed through trusted services, since that can create both backlinks and brand mentions that Google sometimes pulls into summaries.

I recently discovered press releases. I tested them on three projects. In each case, I saw a quick placement in AI Overview and some AI search results (mainly Perplexity, which can parse the internet in real time). So, I think they really do matter.
