But to acquire it you need to be patient. it takes tiime.

Here’s a detailed guide on how to acquire HARO backlinks for your website:

1. Sign Up for HARO (Help a Reporter Out)

Create an Account: First, go to HARO's website and sign up for a free account. On December 9, 2024,it is acquired by Connectively and became Cision dot com. You will be asked for your basic information like name, email, and areas of expertise.
Choose Your Expertise: HARO will ask you to select the categories or topics you're an expert in (e.g., Marketing, Finance, Health, Technology, etc.). This helps reporters send you queries relevant to your expertise.

2. Understand How HARO Works

Query Emails: Once signed up, you’ll receive emails with requests for experts. These are categorized into:
Source Queries (Journalists' Requests): These are the questions that reporters need expert answers for.
Categories: Queries are grouped into categories (Business, Finance, Lifestyle, Technology, etc.).
Email Frequency: HARO emails are sent three times a day: morning, afternoon, and evening (Eastern Time). Make sure to check them regularly for new opportunities.

3. Craft a Compelling Pitch

To acquire HARO backlinks, you need to respond to queries from reporters in a way that stands out. Here are some tips for writing a compelling pitch:
Read the Query Carefully: Make sure you understand what the reporter is asking and if you can offer valuable insights. Respond only to those queries where your expertise aligns with the reporter's needs.
Be Timely: Journalists usually have tight deadlines, so respond as soon as possible. The faster you respond, the higher your chances of getting featured.
Personalize Your Pitch: Tailor each response to the query. Avoid generic responses and ensure that your answer is specific to the reporter's question. Be concise and clear while still providing useful, high-quality information.
Provide Value: Offer real insights, expert knowledge, or unique perspectives. Your response should demonstrate your authority on the subject.
Include Your Credentials: Briefly explain your expertise and experience in the subject area. Mention your position or company if relevant. This builds credibility and shows you're a trustworthy source.
Include Your Website Link: Ensure you include a link to your website or relevant page (where appropriate). You’ll typically get a backlink in the article that cites you as a source.

Example of a pitch:

"Hi [Journalist Name],
I’m [Your Name], [Your Job Title] at [Your Company], and I specialize in [Your Niche]. I’ve worked with [mention any relevant experiences or case studies], and I would love to share my insights regarding [topic of query].
[Provide a valuable, relevant answer to the query.]
You can read more about my work here: [insert link].
I’d be happy to provide further details if needed. Thank you for the opportunity!
Best,
[Your Name]"

4. Respond Quickly to Queries

HARO is a competitive platform with many experts vying for attention. You must be quick and submit your pitch as soon as possible to increase your chances of being selected. The sooner you respond, the higher the likelihood the journalist will see your pitch and include you in their article.

5. Be Persistent

Don’t Get Discouraged: Not every pitch you submit will result in a backlink. HARO is highly competitive, and journalists often get dozens or even hundreds of responses for each query. The key is to be persistent. Respond to as many relevant queries as possible over time, and focus on building long-term relationships with reporters.

6. Follow Up

If a journalist expresses interest in your response but hasn’t yet published the article, you can politely follow up. However, keep your follow-up emails short, professional, and respectful of their time. Avoid being pushy.

Example:

"Hi [Journalist's Name],
I just wanted to follow up on the query I responded to regarding [topic]. I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute and wanted to check if there’s anything else I can provide. Looking forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
[Your Name]"

7. Track Your Responses

Keep track of the queries you respond to and note any responses or articles that mention you. Sometimes, journalists don’t include the backlinks immediately after quoting you. If you don’t get a backlink right away, it doesn’t hurt to check in politely after a few weeks to inquire about the inclusion of your website link.

8. Leverage HARO for Long-Term SEO Benefits

Getting backlinks from high-authority sources through HARO can significantly improve your website’s SEO, but the process works best when done consistently. Keep responding to queries, and over time you’ll build a portfolio of high-quality backlinks.

9. Additional Tips to Maximize HARO Backlink Acquisition

Be Relevant: Only respond to queries that align with your niche or expertise. Don’t waste time on topics you’re not familiar with.
Use a Professional Email: Journalists are more likely to respond to pitches coming from a professional email address (ideally a business email, not a Gmail/Yahoo/etc.).
Set Up Filters in Your Email: To ensure you don’t miss any relevant HARO opportunities, set up email filters based on categories or keywords relevant to your business.
Stay Within the HARO Guidelines: HARO has strict rules about how you can use the platform. Don’t use HARO queries for self-promotion or spamming. Always keep your responses professional.

10. Bonus: Consider Paid HARO Plans

HARO offers paid plans that provide more benefits:

Pro: This plan provides access to queries earlier than the free version, giving you a head start.
Premium: This plan allows you to respond to queries and potentially get backlinks before free users, making it easier to get noticed by journalists.
While the free plan works just fine for most people, investing in a paid plan could increase your chances of securing backlinks, especially if you’re targeting high-volume industries.

Thank you soooo much for this manual.
It will be helpful for me - thank you again!! :)

Focus on high-quality content, local SEO, and genuine authority backlinks instead of relying on link schemes.

If you've tried multiple link types and aren't seeing results, it might be worth reviewing other SEO factors like on-page SEO, content quality, internal linking, and technical issues (site speed, indexing, etc.).

For link-building, prioritize high-quality, niche-relevant links over volume. Guest posts on authoritative industry sites and local citations (for appliance repair, think directories like Yelp, Angi, and Google My Business) can help.

In competitive niches like appliance repair, EEAT matters more than just links. Focus on local SEO, citations, expert content, and real customer reviews.
Following Avot's post, I'll suggest he redirects his focus on improving meta titles. 176k impression is too much to only land a little above 300 clicks. A better meta title and description will certainly improve CTR.

Guest posting, backlinks are consider as a authoritative links. They are permanent do follow links that help site to improve Google ranking.

Any type of quality backlink can do the job, but I prefer using guest posting and web 2.0 for new websites.

according to my experience guest post and mix backlinks are really effective for new and old both websites.

What is your budget for the project ? Now seo has become very costly. Those with limited budget should not even dr am of attempting it because all money will be a wasted. If you see most of money keywords, they are taken by big businesses it startups with millions in funding. They are spending like crazy on seo.

Only link building can't help you to rank your website are first page. there are lot of work relate to this. my personal step are ranking first page is
  1. Pick keywords which is possible to rank
  2. Well Research Content Writing
  3. Proper On Page SEO which is maintain 2025 google algorithm
  4. Do off page SEO (blog commenting, forum backlink obviously niche relevant, If you have budget then publish Guest post)

  5. Maintain EEAT

Probably somebody could give me advise what is better to boost my rank. I mean with links.
I know there are a lot of people who are selling their links, but all of them don't work these days, moreover just stop impressions for my website.
I was looking for links with Traffic, DA, DR - but still nothing new.

I was trying to find websites for guest posts in our niche as well, it looks like only "home decoration", "home improvement" these niches are close to ours.
But already worry it won't help me as well.

Pls give me advise what is better these days.
In my opinion, you should create relevant Guest post backlinks on high authority sites and create tier two backlinks for those. and boost these guest post's page authority.

That way, you won't have irrelevant backlinks pointing directly at your site, but rather that big domain which is somewhat related to your second-tier backlinks.

Hope you understand my English:)

You’ve definitely tested a lot — but you didn’t mention how you’re choosing the sites you post on.

For example, I noticed you’ve tried placing links on niche-relevant websites (which is a good start), but have you studied how to tell a good site from a bad one?

Personally, I focus on guest posts — yes, they’re more expensive, but if you know what to look for, they can bring solid long-term results. I actually wrote a guide a while ago on how to pick the right sites. But even beyond site selection, you need a clear plan: how many links, to which pages, what anchor types, and in what proportions.

As for crowd links and forums — they can work too, but only if you’re following a proper strategy. The key is to be genuinely useful and give a reason why your link should stay. Each platform has its own rules and culture. Some are easier to place links on, while others — like Reddit — require an entire strategy just to not get banned.

It’s hard to say what will work best for you without digging into your current link profile, content structure, and niche landscape.

Guest post backlinks is better then other backlinks because 1 guest post backlink is give better results at competition of cheap backlinks :)

guest posts are good and they are expensive than other backlinks. although mix backlinks are very reasonable option for new business.

Not all backlinks are equal. Google prioritizes high-authority, relevant, and natural links.
