Hello I have read all the stickies for the newbs but it seems like I have so many deals fall through when it comes to payment.

The majority of the people that I find don't have an established market page but have some feedback.

The deals always seem to fall through even when I am upfront with wanting to use an escrow service, upwork, or fiverr. Am I being unreasonable in asking for these?

How do you guys vet these developers and service providers when they ask for payment upfront and no extensive marketplace posting? Have I been wise to turn all of these down?

If their reputation cannot be verified, do not work with them.

We encourage that when you are searching for a freelancer, that you work with those in the marketplace FIRST.

They're more likely to comprise should the deal not work out how you both originally intended.

The individual in question has been a member for 5 years, is a jr vip, and has 7 feedbacks over the years. Doesn't feel like enough for me, would you do it?

They demonstrated to a high level that he is well versed in the subject.

Only go for people with a history of posting about what they're trying to sell you, ideally some posts demonstrating their knowledge on the topic too. If you see people who just spam the same reply under want to buy threads over and over and that's the bulk of their recent posts, then avoid them as much as possible.

Also deal strictly through forum PMs and state everything you want clearly upfront so that if they do mess up you have clear evidence to shitlist them.

Seems reasonable to me, what more do you want? There will always be risk for both parties when engaging in commercial transactions online but it sounds like you are dealing with someone that has some level of commitment to this forum and their reputation.

If you are dealing in hundreds of dollars or less then id personally be comfortable. If its more than that, maybe you should consider an escrow service.

Yeah its unfortunately multiple thousands.

Seems reasonable to use an escrow company no?

Uh-oh, I thought they have no feedback...

That much over 5 years? Maybe he didn't have vip and didn't sell services during his first years here?

As you said, perhaps they haven’t been upgraded for that long and also, if they’re selling high ticket items maybe they don’t have that many sales - remember feedback is probably given only on a small percentage of transactions anyway.

I mean being a part of this community we know how easy it is to manufacturer all of this stuff. Im literally trying to buy an automation bot from him.

I'm going to browse the dispute section to see if I can get any clarity.

I'll be curious to hear, specially from the mods here, if they've encountered scams from accounts that were maybe bought?

I checked all the people that left him feedback too, 2/7 have activity or profiles that weren't hidden. Do people sell BHW accounts?

Have they been active over the last 5 years?

There's a difference between a Jr. VIP who has consistently been an active member of the community for 5 years and a Jr. VIP with a 5 year old account who suddenly became active in the last few months. Personally, I wouldn't trust the latter.

I would classify it as the latter.

I've asked for escrow only.

I appreciate everyone's input on this, thank you.
