Remove 3rd party software on accounts that are getting hacked

Hi readers,

I have some accounts which all have all been attacked today by some bot using it to post stories and page posts about some crypto scam. The bot has nothing to do with me and I haven't used any growth tools in years. It is liking loads of posts, following, turning my private accounts to public and I don't know what to do. I have tried to search from Instagram settings for any apps or websites that might be linked or even devices but nothing is showing up. Any ideas how I should proceed? I did 2 factor authentication, changed passwords the whole thing - not made a difference.

Is there some software I can use to find out what is using my accounts and to disconnect it?

I'd start by changing your password so they do not have access.

Since nothing is showing up in Instagram settings, you might want to try revoking access from all connected apps through Facebook (if your account is linked to it). Also, check your email for any suspicious login alerts that could give a clue about what’s going on.
As for software, tools like Trend Micro HouseCall or Malwarebytes can scan your devices for malware or keyloggers, just in case. You might also want to use a fresh device and VPN to change passwords again, in case the attacker still has access somehow. Hope this helps!

This, and maybe you could disable your account for 24-72h. When the account is disabled, that doesn't mean you are deleting it. Just disable, it will disappear for a few days. It's hardcore solution, but it's better than loosing the account due to some hacking. It looks like a hack from my pov

Change your IG Password then add 2fa (SMS Code and Auth Code)
Change your Email Password and add 2fa there too.
Disconnect it from FB if you are connected to it.

Then see if the issue is still there.

wow thanks for the response everyone, I will update once I have taken the full advice and activity has stopped and hopefully someone in the future will know what to do if they have the same issue.

I have deactivated the 5 compromised accounts and checked for any link to Facebook but appears none through my facebook account/ pages. I did already try the 2fa and password change but not email. These 5 accounts all have 4 different emails linked...

Side note: one of my personal accounts was shadowbanned years ago as I was automating growth and I was unable to remove any followers. Not until i recently tried to manually unfollow couple days agon and wow it started working! Which is a bit of a coincidence.

Has Instagram reset some parameters lately and perhaps unbarred activity/ shadowbanned accounts thus some tool may have my account in their system that they did not disconnect from years ago? I know it's a reach but I want to make sure. I used loads of chrome extensions and softwares/ services in the past.

Since I mentioned this I keep getting pop ups on each of these accounts regarding suspious automation behaviour, I looked into the likes and they are random pages from all over the world and content is not valuable and appears they are other people using a service in which my accounts are being used for... The likes and follows are controlled so this person knows what they are doing.

Did you remove access of the 3rd party accounts on your instagram accounts? 2fa is a good start

I checked the website permissions and devices nothing is there.

In this case, if they have Cookies login using the software I think they are using - there is nothing you can do.

I have another update! My Facebook has been suspended because some random Instagram account that’s not mine doesn't follow their rules. How do I recover it if I can't login to the Instagram account that's not mine?
