I don't recommend MEXC.
They often list shady meme coins their reviews is also not good.

kraken is a good exchange option

@CryptoAlpha - KRAKEN and all CEXs are not reliable. I've seen so many horror stories. People buying and getting their accounts frozen or locked or worse just have their tokens vanish. Many had issues that created the problems in the first place, but most people just buy with their savings and end up in a back and forth game with the exchangers that froze their funds or tokens.

@MrT131 - I will have another look at it, but as mentioned above I saw Kraken to be just like all the other main CEX.

That's true, there is always a risk, and I wouldn't really ever recommend leaving funds sitting on an exchange, especially large amounts. I so far haven't had any issue with kraken though myself.

I've done trades on MEXC, Gate.io, KUCOIN and so far, my experience has been pretty good on all three! But I liked Gate.io the best, I've swapped my portfolio between the three in the past so I guess taking out to a separate place from these is not going to be a trouble for you either!

Interested in a straight thru exchange that allows the purchase of crypto, and DOES NOT restrict or limit me from withdrawal of crypto to outside wallet.

I will suggest Binance but you told us that it was no longer available in UK, you can try OYX too

Binance is the best, avoid centralized and manipulated exchange like Coinbase
