From my experience I would say that it is similar but different from each other in terms of algorithm
for long form content seo is much more important so you will optimize this to be indexed as the first video in searches
in shorts the mechanism is the same with the difference that after this they come into play
features like good hook good swipe to watch rate because the video is shorter
i suggest to focus in primis with quality if you made your video same or better quality of your competitors is impossible(if you have done the things correct)
for you not start to get traction

1 no my content is in english my audience is global
2 YouTube will index the video based on the best geo that will like your content. i think posting at certain time help
3 no is not 100% original but i dont download video and straight reupload i modify it with transition and effect and enhance the quality
4 i think i was demonetized because for youtube adding effect and transition even with very much different clip is not enough to be classified original content
you will pass the first review likely they do this with an ai bot
but the problem is if a human review your content
maybe .... maybe if after begin monetized i had switched my format to something more original i will keep the channel monetized...who knows ?
because i have an idea
i am thinking.... i can restart and hijack an actual trend and start doing a ton of views (i know how to do it) and meet the monetization standard in a couple of weeks
but then if i switch after monetization my content i will keep monetization?
thanks a lot of advice bro. i think, my video have good quality, they make 70%+ swipe and avd 110%+, but if upload new video, sometime not get instant traction, after 2-3 day they get little traction.

ok guys little update on the current situation
the channel I created that went viral as I said was demonetized so I spent days understanding how to make the most of this traffic
my first thought was to sell it but honestly I received idiotic offers and buyers who expected to have the perfect channel
Solution
browsing the forum I discovered the song claiming thing
I did some Osint around to try to get in touch with a private distributor (thanks to thread in this forum for avoiding strict labels)
and we did it !
they will pass the songs to me and I will use them in my videos (I will have to change and adapt my type of content by creating new types of videos with the new tracks but I already have a plan)
the profit will be 50/50
the representative I spoke with was very explicit
and gave me some info on cpm and how they work with youtube channel
i cant give the name of the company sorry (because is too early to take consideration and because i cant )
i will update you guys!

and I was impressed by this type of marketing
