The blue tick is simply useless. It doesn't increase your reach, and you don't get more likes or followers. The algorithm does not care about your blue tick. But it can be useful to show that the account is real, if there are fake profiles of you or if people copy your business, etc.

That is absolutely right! I experienced and I found it doesn't solve any problem. It just adds to my time.
