Hi everyone, well i just broke up with my girl of a year and a half. The relationship just turned into something toxic, she would constantly complain about how we don't do anything like going to parties etc. The reason for this was i was always working and trying to build my career as i am only 22 and have a lot to do. I am not saying it is bad for her to be wanting to have fun all the time but i figured it was just holding me back. I tried my hardest really to make it work but i just couldnt handle having serious problem and then hearing her nag about how other couples are travelling etc. So it became a thing that was very on off we would break up, i would talk with other girls and idk she might have done the same. But i decided that the best thing for me to do is stay single and grind on my career. What do you think?

Also please drop some sad/love songs i am currently listening too "she looks just like a dream sped up"

Lmao your girlfriend is leaving you cause you are trying to make something out of yourself? Sounds like she wasn't the right one if all she cares about is partying.
What do you think?
I think you made the right decision. But stop this On and Off Thing. Make a clear cut and say its over as it is just hurting both of you.

I decided to leave, she is very attached to me so she still messages and spam calls etc.... But i decided this time would be final! no more on and off and i am just going to focus on myself and growing as a person. It just sucks that at the end of the day i always have that little thoght/feeling if you know what i mean haha, but time is the cure of all evil so i am just trying to keep myself busy.

Thanks for your opinion, appreciate it.

Dude you will be fine! My girl broke up with me a year ago, after being together 12 years, married for 6 months and just having built a house together.

If I can be fine after a year, you definitely will be too.

Might be a bit cliché, but start working out, that really helped me.

The thing is you have to question yourself, maybe she's right and you're like many people here (including myself) obsessed with the hustle. You're 22 and I guess she's young af as well, of course she wants to have fun. It's not like she's 50 and partying with a midlife crisis. Human relationships are more important, than getting the sweet money.

but time is the cure of all evil so i am just trying to keep myself busy

What evil? you broke up with her, because she wants to be, with you, what she is: young. On top of that, she's still looking for you, dude, get back with her and calm down with your job. I'm not saying to forget your hustle, but you have to learn to balance stuff in your life.

I entered expecting a heartbroken guy cuz the gf left ot something, but, I'm sorry to say that I can't empathize very well with your situation. Best of luck anyway.

Dude, there are many girls outside who respects a man who's trying to make his place in the world, grind for himself & her, and apparently those girls will have something in their life : a job or a business of herself, Not a shallow empty life GenZ girl who cares only about partying.

Thanks for your comment bro, by evil i didnt mean like literal evil i just meant time is the cure for everything but that is how the saying goes haha. I completly understand that it is normal for her to prioritise fun at her age. The only problem is to achieve the things i want i have to use most of if not all of my energy there, instead of worrying about having to compete with other couples and how much "fun" they are having. Sure she makes me happy but at the end of the day i am just not satisfied with my life and dont feel the fullfullment i would like too. So what i did is i weighed everything out, what is more important for me at this point in my life, having a relationship and having some fun now while i am young just to have to spen most of my 30s grinding or working for someone else? Or building something now that i am young and have less responsibilites and more time. So that when i hit my 30 i know what i want with my life and am ready to face it head on. Know what i mean? I guess everyone has there point of view but for me with family issues, financial problems, personal battles and a full on relationship it is just too hard to balance and makes it a hell of a lot harder. Idk if you agree with me but that is my opinion and id be happy to hear your thoughts bro.

I feel this and believe it is true also, Im just going to continue grinding and see what happens. Thank you

DO NOT BE HEART BROKEN. BE HAPPY THAT YOU ARE NOW FREE MINDED ENOUGH TO CHASE YOUR CAREER / FREELANCING GOALS.
she would constantly complain about how we don't do anything like going to parties etc.
She is a chic for whom the world is a rosy paradise where one need not work and only party.
Very good that she left you. Be happy.
always working and trying to build my career as i am only 22 and have a lot to do
You are on the right track.
Along with chasing your career goals / freelancing goals, now what you must do is, DO NOT get into a relationship, just have a few casual friends, including a few girls, with whom you can casually hang out when you feel like. Considering that you are only 22 now, do not get committed into any relationship for now.
Just go ahead using your time productively and chasing your career goals / freelancing goals. When you feel like going out, hanging out, just have a few casual friends for that. Focus towards your future, which you are already doing and remain on the right track for a bright future ahead of you.

you did the right thing, focus on your career, people come and go, you're still young, many older people don't believe in love and maybe you will become one after some experiences. so don't overthink in this and focus on yourself and your careers to become a better person. also go on walks with music on it will help a lot

All this pain and heartbreak is temporary. It's not necessary that 2 people always want the same thing in life. Move on and focus on your work. Long life ahead, relationships will follow.

Thank you bro i am trying my hardest, that was my thoughts exactly, we are always sharing our dreams together about travelling the world and just living free. But.. like... i dont understand what they think sometimes, that they will have the power to do this without going through a period of time where they will need to dedicate there time into building an income? Like obviously if we want to travel the world together and live free we will have to spend a lot, a lot of time working now so that we can reach that goal.. anyways... idk really but thank you for your comment man really appreciate it and it is exactly what i am planning to do.

Thank you brother, Idk i still do believe in love and i dont want to lose hope for now, maybe life will prove me wrong tho and your right.... also, yeah walks and music is great, lmk some of your top songs man my playlist getting old...

I respect your opinion, but, I think you have to gain more perspective about this. You had a girl that (I suppose) loves you and viceversa, you had enough things in common to be together but you disagreed on this. If you try to think it objectively, she wasn't expecting strange or unjustified things from you, just to enjoy more. As I said, I'm not expecting you to drop your hustle and to become a party boy, it's just about balancing different aspects of your life.

As you said in another reply, you had dreams together but she wasn't actively working to achieve them. Dude, she's 22 or around that age, of course she isn't. It's absolutely normal, people aren't normally that focused or "obsessed" since such a young age, give her a break. I don't think your relationship is lost, you both have to be emotionally mature enough, to see how you can get to middle grounds. You could complement each other really well, you could help her to develop her working side and she could help you with learning to have fun. Idk, I don't think you should, either, find a girl that just wants to work all the time, or to think "she's not hustling 24/7? OUT"

Also, you say about "when I get to my 30's", sorry to sound cold, but, you can't be sure you'll make it to your 30's, so, relax and enjoy the ride dude. It's not just about having good work ethics, thing that apparently you already have, life is balance. Maybe try to automate process, Idk, but don't let your job consume you.

Finally, if you want complementary opinions and not biased, to form an integral consideration, you should ask about this in relationship advice subreddits or other forums, cuz obviously here you'll just get the "keep hustling 24/7 and forget about her, she's just a burden".

Going through pretty much the same situation. Just gotta let it go if it affects you and your work. You are young and your prime is yet to come. So just say to yourself "it iss what it iss" and carry on.

In words of Future:
"Chase a check (Chase it), never chase a bitch (Don't chase no bitches)"

This was a really nice response :) Thank you for that man. I agree with a lot of what you said. I still will continue to focus on myself though because there is also lots of things that i would have to get very into detail to explain. But i agree with you, time flies and you never know if tomorrow will come so live in the moment. I guess i am just at that age where i am quite lost when it comes to a lot of things, and life is starting to get very serious and i am trying my best to adapt. I moved to Greece a few years ago from Australia and things are just so different and harder here which also is causing me a lot of stress and difficulty. But I am going to take your advice on trying to balance some things out and also learn to enjoy the process of Life.

Regarding the relationship, our goals and what we want out of life is just so different to the extreme and i feel she just tells me what i want to hear when it comes to grinding and trying to build together. I will tell you another example of a problem i have, i was the only one bringing income into the relationship and was covering both mine and her expenses on everything. But yet i felt whatever i would do it would not be enough, it is like the only thing she wants to do with her life is holidays without having to work, which yes sounds nice but im sure you know thats just not possible.

Also id love to hear about some of your experiences if youd care to share because i really like the way you think.
