Question -

For the last few days everytime I shut down scrapebox, then try to open it again, I get a warning window that says "You have multiple instances of Scrapebox running from the same location! bla bla bla...

I look at the processes running and scrapebox.exe is running and I cant End Process on it.

So everytime I shut down scrapebox, and want to open it again, I need to reboot.

Anyone have this issue???? Yes, Im on the latest version and running XP pro.

Thanks

I am getting a really low success rate for my blog commenting. I got 6 sucessful posts out of 556 blogs.

This result is without proxies (which I wasn't having any luck with). My IP is not being blocked at all, as I can manually post to my own blogs. However Scrapebox is unable to post to my own blogs. Any idea what could be going on?

I have my proxy harvest set to 75 max threads -

When I normally harvest the free proxies there are normally around 1800 available, then I test and it takes about 20 minutes to test.

I made the changes you mentioned above and ran the harvest then test and it took 17 min 30 sec and I received 0 good proxies.

Most of the failed proxies were listed as "Error 404 Connection aborted upon request". Why so many of these???????

What am I doing wrong here?? 0 good proxies. Also, there are 2 different ProxyHarvester= lines in that scrapebox ini file. One is set to "ProxyHarvester=40000". Is this the one that needs to be changed? Or the other one?

FYI - I'm getting pretty crappy results from the proxy harvester today myself, even after throttling down the number of connections. That happens from time to time with the proxy harvester. Usually clears up after a few hours.

I think it's the other setting in the ini file that needs changed. Not sure what that proxy harvester=40000 does - might be the max # to harvest @ once.

Thanks proxygo for the input.

I must disagree with the numbers though.
I made the changes in the ini file and the program a) harvest slower and b) no proxy was found good (probably from time out).

So, you probably have a very low latency line. :D

Obvsiouly, your mileage may vary depending on the speed of your internet pipeline.

Also, the harvest sources seem a bit off today.

Odd - I haven't had that exact problem except when another instance of SB is running from the same directory. And by running, I'm including time for dumpprep.exe (mickeysoft's "do you want to send an error report for us to ignore" waste of CPU cycles) to work its craptacular magic.

You might try deleting any files in the folder where scrapebox.exe lives that being with "crashdump" (e.g. crashdump_bing.txt). If SB abnormally terminates it sometimes leave behind these crash report files that can be useful. But their existence can also make SB choke on program load.

Try deleting them or renaming them or moving them somewhere other than where you launch ScrapeBox from.

Just because you can post to your own blogs doesn't mean your IP isn't being blocked somewhere down the line.

Running scrapebox without proxies is just asking for ban hammers to pummel you about the head and shoulders.

Maybe the reason is a lot of SB-Owners that want to try checking proxies with 1000 connections at a time? :)

I only had this problem when SB was still running. But I can close the process.
As a temporary workaround I suggest to copy your SB to different directories. Make a couple of versions. Then you dont need to restart too soon.

I don't usually run Scrapebox without proxies.

I am unable to post with proxies - so I tried without proxies to ensure I don't have bad proxies.

I still got a poor success rate. I am not sure where the problem is...

Do people post with their anchor text or just some names?
Any success rate differences?
And is there a way to put anchor text that corresponds with the site?

Thanks

Check out page 18 of the user guide. If you dont have the user guide you can get it on the scrapebox user guide thread here on BH.

Check this out---
Code:
[URL="http://www.catsite.com/"]http://www.catsite.com[/URL] {cats|cat food|cat health|cat diets}
[URL="http://www.dogsite.com/"]http://www.dogsite.com[/URL] {Dogs|dog diets|dog food}
The person that created the guide is calling it the "Link Lock Feature"

If your targeting multiple sites in a blast you can spin anchor text specific to each one of your sites. ... Im in the middle of a blast that includes 5 web sites and I have specific anchor text spun specifically for each site.

I dont know the "Correct" answer to whether names or anchor text stick better.

as a proxy supplier of 5 yrs the answer is simple as to why
why when u leech is the proxie count low..
lets say scrape box has sold 500 coppies [ example ]
thats 500 people all leeching the same proxies from the
same 5 leech links. no offence what do u expect.
all the links being leeches are being leeched from forums
that require no login hence why the programme can leech
them.. if the users in those 5 forums don't post many
proxies - when you people go to leech your proxie count
will be low - but that should be obvious for leeching
free proxies
this next comment is not a spam its a point , in my forum
there are no proxies posted in the free members area for
scrape box..why?.. becuse every noobie would login - log out
byby.. and the proxies get hammered by 1000 account holders
with 0 post... all my proxies for s-box are kept in the vip part
of my forum for 1 good reason.. less people using them
the longer they last [ less shared ]
so does that asnwere why the leech in s-box will have bad days?
people no post - u get no proxies to leech.

am i qualified to say this? i think so
i no how leeching tools work tools such as
fpl - and proxy fire of whom i no the makers
quite well use the same effect

if the source links dont update your only leeching
the same proxies over and over

so back to the start the tweaks work fine

Threads=300
ProxyHarvester=200
TimeOut=2
blame the proxies being leeched..

if the settings were incorect jammo
couldnt leech 20k proxies from 667
sources and get almost 700 proxies
working..why so many..u dont have
these sources..less used = more alive.

I think a timeout of 2 seconds is way too low. Most free proxies are above that time. So you would miss most of the proxies. There is no reason to not have it at 1000 threads and 40 seconds timeout. You should take the time to at least wait this time if you want to use public proxies.

erm hello there , did u read what i said or fall asleep
if you re-loaded say 5k or 10k proxies.
lets say 5k proxies time out . that mans all thoes time
out proxies will each be re-tested for 40 seconds each
are u mad? 5000 x 40 seconds to retest public proxies
what a waste of time,

so lets say you re-test 5000 time outs

thats 5000 x 40 seconds = 3333 minutes
= 55.5 hours ... welcome to planet wtf

anyone with common sence wont spend
20-30 mins on a list..55hrs on a public list
oh brother

budah say we need save time not waste time
ahh-men-

thats 2 and a quarter days testing 5k time outs
better pack your sandwiches and coffee gonna
be a long night

and any proxie that takes 30 seconds to ping
back is garbage.. i wont touch any proxie on my
forum under ping time 1-300... 30 seconds to ping
back dam ide hate to imagine the ping of thes

I was looking for more ways to use scrapebox to laser target specific sites to comment on and couldnt quite figure it out until I read the ebook listed in the thread below. This is footprints on steroids! (Special thanks to WizGizmo for posting it)

http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...imization-footprints-backlinks-made-easy.html

There's some crazy good suggestions, examples, and tools in the ebook download above.

EX - if you want to find comments that your competitors posted use this...

Yahoo only:
linkdomain:competitorsite.com -site:competitorsite.com
By using this you can find where your competitor posted and post comments on those same pages.

The ebook on the thread above will show you how to really target your niche. You have to get creative on your searches. Keep in mind.. that not all the search engines use the same search strings... so you need to test a few out to see what works.

Im not answering anyones question... just wanted to pass on some good info......

I still can't believe people would even consider using a tool with this much without proxies, spinning, or doing anything else to protect themselves.

Not only will you be protected, you're success rate will be so much higher if you just take the extra time to actually think just a little.
