Hello scrapebox experts. I hope to fall into this category soon.
Here is question 1:
When harvesting free proxies there is normally a list of about 1800 it harvests. Then in step 2 I test the proxies. To test 1800+ proxies it takes a LONG time. So I end up finding 20-30 good ones, aborting the harvest, and then saving those proxies to use.
Am I doing something wrong here? I noticed when I do a complete proxy test it does a second check on the proxies found. Should I select a smaller subset of free proxies to harvest and let it run until its done or what??????
Question 2 -
Is anyone having good success with the new captcha feature? Do tell! I think I saw that its $2 per 1000 captchas so Im not sure its cost effective.
Question 3 -
Should it really take 1 hour to check the pagerank on 10,000 harvested URL's? Im kind of new to scrapebox and each task is taking longer than I had expected. My harvesting, pageranking, posting, etc... is all taking a really long time.
Thanks all... Im getting much better at using this software and hope to add some value to this thread soon.
On #1 - no you're not doing anything wrong. The free proxies do take awhile to test, esp. since SF added the add'l proxy sources. But the add'l proxy sources upped the # of working free proxies SB finds. And the tests are definitely worth running if you're going to use the free proxies. They chuck out all the dead proxies and test the actual anonymity of the proxies. So running the test is something of an investment in time - if you use them untested, they will be WAY slow as SB cycles thru all the dead proxies looking for a live on to use for what it's doing. And untested ones will be very unsecure, causing ban hammers to rain down from the sky and your commenting spree to blow goats.
The free proxies are useful for scraping, testing PR and the like, and you could try harvesting from fewer proxy sources if you want it to go faster, but obviously you'll get less proxies that way.
#2 - I am having kick-ass success between the slow accurate mode and decaptcher support. Not sure which of those two factors is the most significant, but where the old slow mode usually gave me 10-20% success, the accurate mode + decapcther is averaging around 70-90% success. Amazing.
#3 - yes, PR checking seems slow, that's partially going to be because you're using the free proxies. They're nice b/c they're free, but they are getting the holy hell pounded out of them by us SB freetards lol. The free proxies are gonna be slow, but they're free, I think the line for refunds starts out back lol. Is joke. I think PR is also slow due to some limitation in the Big G API on speed.
I usually launch one instance of SB and start it on a "slow" operation like checking PR or Alive or Alexa rank, then start another instance of SB and start scraping or commenting.
