I create automated websites with massive amount of pages, initially I get good amount of visitors but over the period of time the visitors start to drop drastically. In easy words, my site's does not last more than 7 days. However, the number of indexed pages are same, Webmaster is clean there are no manual penalties. I feel like, my website(s) gets ghosted or shadow banned by Google. I am not saying this on the basis of just one site, it is about all the sites that I create.

Some important points:
  • I use Expired Domains with decent metrics.
  • I make sure to submit Sitemaps in Google Webmaster
  • All my websites are in different Google Search Console accounts.
This is my site 1, it was getting good amount of traffic but suddenly out of the blue the traffic disappeared.

This is my site 2, it was getting good amount of traffic but it suffered too.

All the pages are still well indexed in Google, but none of them are ranking anymore. What could be the reason?

I am looking forward for others opinion on this.

What's your hosting like?

What provider, and do the sites share IPs?

What kind of content? How much per page? How was it made, spun, scraped?

google have had 3-4 updates in the last 2 months or so, and it looks like your sites have dropped exactly during this time, which means they've been affected by one of these updates. Which one, I can't say because I don't know anything about your sites or what these updates targeted exactly. So, you'll have to check the updates yourself, see what they targeted, and then try to find the problems on the affected pages and fix them, but I wouldn't rush it yet. I'd wait 2-3 more weeks as sometimes things get back to normal for some of the affected sites without you needing to do anything.

Besides, believe it or not, google are now playing mind tricks with us, and affect some sites and then they wait for the webmasters' responses to see if those webmasters feel guilty of manipulating the SERPs and undo the changes that they think they've made to get their sites penalized. Yet another reason not to do anything yet... at least for a few weeks like I said.

+ another one, upcoming soon...
They just gonna keep coming lol

What similiarities in terms of ranking the site are you doing?
both onsite and offsite SEO techniques.
Somthing is clearly leaving footprints, something is clearly the same that is being mirrored across

I am using Cloudflare DNS.

Using different Cloudflare accounts for each domain, so unique DNS records every time.

I would say 20% scraped, remaining 80% spun.

Makes sense, I actually observed a pattern as I am replicating the same strategy again and again and every time I face the same problem. So, probably I am doing something which is making me to fall into their trap. I do agree with you, as I got panicked I straight away went to my Google Webmaster and started playing with things to see if I could fix the problem myself. I will wait and see if everything gets back to normal.

Well tbh everything is same, the theme, the way I automate things, the common site pages. There is definitely a mark which is making my sites to fall. I think, I should reverse engineer everything and see where I am making the mistake. You are right, footprints might be the culprit in my case.

I think you are answering yourself.

Google automations hate "massive things".

For automation, the best course I've ever taken in my life is building a spam email host. This seems nothing to do with SEO but in fact is the best example to understand the mechanics of spam filtering because they rely on the same principles.

Try to relay mass 500K spam emails per day and have a 80-90% delivery rate. You will go bald but if you achieve this you will learn how to feed online things adequately, including SEO for massive sites and even SM automations. It's a cornerstone for automation learning.

Ok, pretty good then.

How do you index? I'm quite surprised your sites index that fast and bring you traffic this fast.

I do something similar, and I expect to wait ~1 month before *any* traffic, or even indexing.

Could the way you index your site be a possible issue?

nobody will be able to give you an exact answer, especially not without looking at the site data.
however you can try adding new content and give it time or send some fresh backlinks.
you could also try to change the layout/theme, sometimes that helps too.

automated websites means spun content through plugin right ? i dont think it works with google updates now

Hmm, you are right.

I know how valuable emails still are, but its little to impossible nowadays to achieve such a delivery rate. Even if you can achieve a good delivery rate you have to deal with ISPs, they won't let your email to reach out to user's inbox.

Majority of the time, your email will land into no man's land spam folder.

Rest, yes. If one can overcome all the hurdles in mass mailing, then there's nothing like this biz.

I am making use of all the basics which were working in past and now, all my pages contain a YouTube embedded video. I use video sitemaps, usual sitemaps and Instant Indexing API.

If indexing was the issue, they would have deindexed the site first.

Yes, this time I will be making a non identical site. Everything would be different! Thanks.

I can still see automated websites ranking on highly competitive keywords. Let's see what happens once the update has been fully rolled out.

Here is the answer...
Yes, I cannot disagree on this but I can still see many sites ruling SERPS with pure automated content. Probably, I need to make some adjustments or add twists to my current strategy.

However, I think Tazarbm has said it right.

Google doesn't like anything that happens suddenly and unnaturally. It is against their terms and policy so they will punish it for sure.

Your sites traffic lasted for less than a week, this is not worth the efforts you put in. Do you want a long term business? Then this method is definitely not working.

How about going slow then? Do not fetch hundreds and thousands of pages at once, but go slow but steady.

I am working on similar concept of fetching content from other sources but I know this principle of Google, so I am going slow, really slow. It may take me around 3 months to have few thousand pages but I will go slow and see what happens.

It's Russian roulette. You may gain or you can fail!

During my case studies, I realized that old domains with clean history have more opportunities to gain traffic. It's actually great to start slowly.

I have been testing this strategy on expired domains but didn't thought of trying it on an auction domain with some age. Do you think it will still consider as suddenly if the website is well indexed in Google since 2011?

There must be some way to go around it. Lately, SERPs are filled with websites created not long ago and ranking on thousands of keywords. However, there rankings are not going anywhere. The only difference I can see is the age. There domains are like a decade old and mine is like a week old.

But yes, I have understood your pov and it makes all sense to me.

Hmm, old domains which never got expired are ranking better than expired domains with decent metrics. According to my current research, auction domains are what performing the best.

I would first try twisting my own method, if it still does not work I will move to auction domains.

Il'd argue, that these are fine metrics - well, it burned down pretty fast and your CTR sucks, but when you get the CTR right, you might end up with a good RoI, depending on your Costs for creating this. So be happy about this - you got a nice amount of impressions - look how you can recreate these, and improve your CTR, wich basicly means, that your Metas might suck. With this amount of Clicks I make ~100-150€ per day with classic amazon spam. Double the CTR will double Clicks, doubles income. So, if you can reproduce it on a constant level, this might be not too bad.

Edit:
The whole Bing Spam method was based on websites, that only made it perhaps 4 days in the index, so you got a way better stat there and this on google ;)

That's the reason why I wrote "old domains". Expired domains are dropped actually. I bought some old domains from the GD auction and I feel the age difference is obvious... But that's just me, some may have different approaches and results.
