Hey SF,

somehow when I try to update SB it downloads the 2 update files but I am not able to restart SB after that. When I remove the 2 update files, SB will restart perfectly fine.
Do you have a direct download link to the zip package of the latest version?

Has anybody had any problems with proxy bandwidth? And also, does anybody know approximately how many times you can scrape from Google before it blocks your IP? I'm going to be doing some huge blasts soon and not sure if 10 private proxies will be enough.

I've had to keep a close eye on my bandwidth usage on the metered services, if that's what you mean. I've run some tests with WireShark to see what kind of bandwidth each activity in SB uses and posted a few of those results earlier, I can post more results if people are interested.

Also, I've taken to not using my paid proxies at all for search engine scraping. I use a mix of SB harvested free proxies and some other proxies that have no bandwidth quota on them when I'm harvesting URL's, checking PR, etc. I get really good results from it, and haven't gotten banned once from any of the SE's using those proxies for harvesting.

Then I use my paid proxies for commenting.

I think that's the main reason - to look like the comments are coming from different sources. To avoid ban hammers. I have a higher reported success rate using paid proxies than using the free proxies when commenting.

Plus I just don't on general principle like web sites knowing my actual IP. Call me paranoid, but to that I will simply say, "Wanna buy a tinfoil hat? I made it myself."

I have been doing the same thing Greg talks about and using a mixture of free and paid proxies.

I am using PB shared proxies service and it's been great so far.

Get's the job done.

I was also considering the shared proxies at PB, since they would be a lot more cost effective for me - but I've heard some talk about bandwidth and assumed 10gb wouldn't be enough? I have no experience with proxies and bandwidth, so I might be making silly assumptions.

I have yet to see a problem with it.

Just space out your submissions and you will be fine.

You should be doing this anyways since it will help with your success rate quite a bit.

That's one of the reasons I went with their shared proxies. I wanted a lot of IP addresses at a decent cost point. Their control panel is real straightforward and from what I can tell is updated in real-time - you can always log in and see how much of your monthly quota you've used.

You can also add more bandwidth if you run out. I've used a couple supplementary sources to PB, but I'm really happy with their service - both what they offer, and their responsiveness when I've had questions.

Is anyone able to run more than one instance of scrapebox at a time on the same computer? I know its possible, but anytime I do, one of the instances will stop responding at some point, though not right away.

Im having a really good success rate with BlogEngine posting, but it takes forever in browser simulation mode. Having multiple scrapeboxes running would really be great!

Yes exactly the same thing that was happening to someone from here yesterday but during commenting. He was using no proxies, had fast internet and it turned out his router started dropping connections from the scrapebox.exe process and after a few thousand comments it would slow to a crawl before stopping.

I even switched his license to another machine to rule out software, same story again. He reset his router and was instantly doing about 6 comments per second again at only 50 threads.

So try that, there's numerous things on your machine that can effect the functioning of ScrapeBox. There's certainly nothing in the ScrapeBox code that tells it to stop or slow down after a certain amount of URL's, so if you hit such a problem try eliminating things to work out the cause.
