If any of you are still using Joomla for your blogging or other projects, despite WordPress dominance in the CMS world? Is there a specific reason why you're choosing Joomla in general and especially?

Yes, but I did never liked PHPnuke, but alternatives was always nice to play around with .. =)

EDIT: I did though use CMS Made Simple a bit back then, that one I liked, very fast.

CMS Made Simple was cool.

We also use Bolt and Contao in our network.

I think we both lived thru the "frames" era to, they where cool, luckily SEO was not a real thing back then, since they sucked in SEO even back then .. =)

Love when a greedy company think they can ditch their open-source community and dies trying to maintain with their shit programmers.
Mambo: a great example of this.

I was involved developing in Joomla for the 1.X versions but their updating protocol was so omega-shit I prefer to ditch it and move to WP (updating a Joomla back in the day, was almost the same as moving from a forum CMS to another!).

Similar happens to other shitty CMS like Simple Machines Forum. Moving from 1.X to 2.0 was a pain in the ass. And now moving from 2.0 to 2.1 is another pain in the ass (mostly because their updating process is very shitty, and their plugin maintainers forgot about their legacy plugins years ago).

By the way, I have in my agenda to retry Joomla in a couple of weeks. I've heard they have greatly improved their updating protocol, and the best plugins are much more settled.

PS: Drupal is a no-no for me. I prefer to go straight, Laravel if I need such degree of customization.

I agree. Wordpress is best as it gives so many options.
