The Reason Why I'm Sticking with the Copy Claim Method

Thanks OP for this detailed journey thread. Before today I had no idea that this thing even existed, let alone how one can earn money through it.
You're welcome, this is one of the reasons why I'm so grateful to be able to share the method because I know there's a lot of people out there who could get some money from it without getting monetized straight through YouTube.

Nice results. Do you upload daily? If you skip a week, are earnings going to be affected?

I was wondering about the necessity of a monetized channel. Afaik now YouTube monetizes even non-monetized channels (takes the revenue for itself). So shouldn't any channel have ads now anyway? Hence we don't need to reach 4k hours to get paid music royalties ?
Thanks, man, and I usually upload based on the content that I'm uploading so when I made the $2k it was daily for a few weeks but right now it's weekly or 2-3 times a week that's how I made the $900. It also helps that I got videos out there that I started uploading two years ago that were making $30 for more than a year without me uploading anything as well.

It really depends on what you're uploading because if you're uploading something that's trending then you are going to be affected by not uploading. I do have videos that were populating on their own without me uploading anything as well.

I'm still searching for a solution on how to monetize with a network that doesn't require the YouTube channels to be monetized or applied through the YouTube Partnership Program to make this work long-term. If I had it my way then all of my channels would be monetized without AdSense as I hate how they demonetized so randomly.

I still don't even know for sure if the channel needs to reach those standards as nobody has confirmed for sure yet.

Thanks for sharing your method, OP
So, the hardest part of this method is finding the right distributor.
You're welcome man, yes the hardest part is finding the right distributor but only for the long-term though. You can use the popular ones to start out but long term you need to find others to make it something that you can do for a long-time.

Interesting, I can do music my own but I have an Adsense channel that's whitehat and I don't want it punished. Google is like Skynet and they could find out im doing this method isn't it. They can find you own X amounts of accounts via IP (even if my IP is dynamic they can also know its the same device)
I have a bunch of old accounts so im not sure if they would be safer.

Since im assuming you do this with non monetized channels to keep it low key, it's lower risk but I don't understand how you get views on the first place. Some people mentioned football content. Well wouldn't that just get you a copyright strike or the music distributor finding out you use copyrighted content to lure in views? How do you get the views? that's always the important part.

Yes, finding a good distributor is difficult, but the CPM is another major concern. The CPM is usually low, and so the earnings.

I still always recommend to anybody doing this method to always reserve whitehat channels with AdSense as you're going to make way more money with your whitehat channels and you don't have to worry about getting in trouble. The only thing that you would have to worry about is an accidental demonetization episode due to a robot error.

Never try the copy claim method on whitehat AdSense channels, only try it on demonetized or older channels that aren't associated with AdSense. These are low risk and even if you get copyright strikes it's not going to really hurt you but the one risk of this method is how long your music distributor or network keeps you as you can easily get dropped if they catch you using this method.

Yeah, sports is one of the genres you can choose as anything that's trending works the best because you don't need a built-in audience to succeed and you need the views to get a good amount of money. On AdSense, you can have few views and still make a good amount of money. You can have the channel successful pretty quickly because droves of people are already searching for that content. This works best with that type of content or anything copyright related as some people have been successful with movies, TV shows, and music-related stuff. This was stuff that people like me used to make a shitload of money off of on AdSense channels before the rule changes on YouTube in 2018. Go after that kind of content if you want to lure viewers fast.

Any news?
Nothing new right now but I'm still doing well and I haven't been dropped by DK just yet. We should be getting paid again in the next week or two. My main channel did very well in December with 1.4 million views so that'll be a pretty big payout in February. November's payout this month will be less than last month which was $914 so I'm expecting somewhere between $600-$800 for that month.

Yeah, finding the right distributor is the most difficult part, the rest of it is easy. The CPM is usually pretty low that's why you need a lot of views to get a decent payout. This strat is most successful with copyright content that's trending.

ANOTHER UPDATE:

I got my first payment from CD Baby using this method for the month of November and I surprisingly made more than $40 and with taxes got $32 out of it but either way, this is way more than I was expecting as I must've had enough videos up on YouTube that was still getting viewed. With CD Baby, I'm trying to use less risky copyright stuff so that in the future my safer niches can make money from CD Baby as long as possible. I'm keeping my more riskier copyright stuff going through DistroKid. I'm still awaiting payment for the month of November from them and once I get that one, I'll update you guys on how much I made but I'm not expecting to make more until December and January's payments are in.

CD Baby has a lot of negative feedbacks, I'm happy to see that you are satisfied with this distributor. I will try them too

UPDATE: I just got dropped from CD Baby, no real surprise as I got a friend who got dropped from them after his first payment so I'm glad to have gotten dropped now before I put more work into them in the future.

I do need another option as I don't want to throw those songs onto DK. If you're currently in a network that doesn't monitor Content ID that closely please PM me.

I might look into BeatStars next as they bought back their Content ID system last year.

Thank you very much, buddy!

Ironically, I just got dropped by them so that negative feedback was correct so people really need to stay away from them and TuneCore when using this method.

Don't try them but I hope to find another distributor soon outside of DistroKid. An MCN that really doesn't care about Content ID as much.

Why the taxes are so expensive?
I have no idea but I'm no longer with them anyways.

Does anybody out there use BeatStars or another network for this method outside of Audiam, CD Baby, DistroKid, and TuneCore and is doing well with not getting dropped?

Well done, that taxes are too much

Having you tried to join an MCN like Freedom? You can use MCNs without copy claim method.

Have you tried level music?
Not yet, I actually only heard of them once but I might have to look into them.

Not yet but I thought Freedom had shutdown or got bought out, maybe that was a different MCN or something.

Don't MCNs require you to be monetized with AdSense first though?

Well done, that taxes are too much
Yeah, they really are as that was one thing that did bother me.

THE NEWS GETS EVEN WORSE TODAY!

DistroKid has now dropped me as I noticed my songs and earnings details were removed from the site. Now I know why they waited so long to pay people this month.

Ironically, I got dropped in January 2021 by TuneCore and now I get dropped by CD Baby and DistroKid in January 2022 so is January the month where networks drop people using Content ID illegally?

This absolutely destroys me because I had some big payments scheduled to come in over the next few months.

I'm absolutely lost right now on what to do next as it's gonna take a while to build up my safe YouTube channel.

Check AirBit mate. I used to do it with a friend with copyrighted video but the CPM was low
