[Journey] $500 from freelance content writing.

Hello friends.
This is my second journey. My first journey was small and achieved in a short span of time after joining BHW.
This time I set a milestone of earning the first $500 from freelance content writing.
I am hoping to achieve this within 2 months, but let's see.
I have a portfolio website, uploaded samples, and form ready.
I know that there are so many ways to approach clients. Freelance platform, cold emails, job portals, forums, and many more.
As I am in the initial stages of my journey, I would like to take things slow.
I am gonna follow only one method to approach clients, i.e. Facebook groups.
I have a Facebook account and I joined 50 groups. Every day, I will reply to posts that are looking for a freelance writer and do that until I get a gig, no matter how many messages I have to make.
I am going to write in only two niches - Digital Marketing and WordPress.
In the starting, I've decided to keep my prices low and once I achieve the first milestone and see clients' feedback, I'll decide how should I go.
I'll update this thread daily to track my progress.
If you guys have some advice or question, you're welcome.

Is there any specific reason why you haven't mentioned / don't plan to use obvious sites like odesk/freelancer.com/fiverr?
I'm curious how things are there nowadays in terms of winning projects and competition.

Thanks for the reply. The reason why I am not looking for more professional platforms as of now because I am just starting out.
Facebook groups are easy for beginners. When someone post a requirement in the group, you only have to reply them with few words or sentences and if they are interested, they will PM you. On these professional platforms like upwork and freelancer.com you have to create a detailed answer with at least 100 words, showing all your expertise and samples, which is time-consuming. Also these websites have daily limit to reply to gigs, means you can't reply to 50 gigs in a day unless you purchase credits.

Thank you all, for your kind advice. I'll look into other niches too, and approach clients on different platforms.
I already have a prepared plan for that. But as of now, I've limited myself to FB and only a few niches to check, how far I can go, or someone goes if they have limitations. I am also doing some other researches on this. So, I will continue this for a while.

Yesterday I got the first gig from FB groups. A girl asked me to write a 700 words article for $1, check for grammar and plagiarism.
And the deadline was midnight yesterday. (So, I had 5-6 hours to complete after accepting)
$1 is too much for me, I was flying in heaven. Anyhow, I controlled my emotions and accepted the gig.
Completed the article within 3 hours, check with Grammarly premium and Copyscape. Submitted to her.
Now waiting for the review. She said, if the article is "approved" by their "company", they will pay me my money after 30 days, as their "company" follows net-30 payment terms.
I am really looking forward to this.

That was fun, I am gonna pitch again today and look for another goldmine waiting to be extracted.

No. That's the beauty of FB groups. People there are looking for slaves (or robots). People who like to get exploited, go there to find work.
Since more than 50% of accounts in groups are fake, they will use you for a month and then block you.
I am currently working with a digital marketing agency and also I am able to get quality gigs at much higher prices.
But, I am doing this on purpose, for research. Not for money, for sure.
But yeah, this is a kind of experience and lesson for other freelance beginners. I will try to make $500 with FB, let's see how long it takes.

Got one more DM from another girl, asking to write biographies and news articles.
I denied as it is not my cup of tea.
