What are the most common thing to do to rank high?
Will blog writing help to rank? (specific Geo location I mean local area)
Do I need long tail or short keyword to rank? (if we compare with competitors)

You should look to post offers every 3 days. I dont know why but for me, if i dont, traffic drops. So fresh content, regularly has some impact in one way or another.

I posted my first blog post and after 48 hours, I ranked on the fourth page of google by my target keyword. It was about 10 days ago. Now I'm on the second page, 13th position to be exact. I didn't build any backlink to that page yet. But my content is way better than the top 10 pages by that keyword. So, good content = takes few days to index.

You mean blog post. How can I find a topic? Could you please elaborate?

Yes, I do agree with your words. Absolutely good content works better than backlinks sometimes.
