Hi, great people.

I just wanna know if Google ranking factors have changed because I've lost my site to 2 low blogs with low backlinks and domain authority

If fact, the first one does it have up to 4 DA, and the second has 0 DR and all less than 3 DRs.

But my page has more than 13 DR and 13 DA.

Lastly, my content is longer and answers all the questions about the topic while theirs do not, and the first is not friendly due to multiple ads everywhere.

P.S - this same content has been ranking through out 2020 at number 2/3.

So, please, what's it I've done wrong or has the Google updates changed?

I built backlinks from web 2 and comments.

No recent updates, don't change anything wait and see if there are any changes

DA is an external factor and has no correlation with rankings.

don't rely on metrics,
you have to make a proper on-page & off-page audit to judge

DA is a scam nothing else, google now focuses on those link which are paying them money or good content.
For one keyword i found first page od google filled with ads only, so better pay big G directly insted of spending on link development.

  1. you need to explain a bit more. is the drop for 1 keyword or for multiple keywords?
  2. when did you notice this drop? this week? or while back?
  3. did these 2 other sites changed the content of the page that are now outranking you?

Google algorithms didnt change recently so they are probably using black hat methods to rank their site.

No updates. There is possibility of losing your backlinks and also change in the user behavior. Average click through rate is decreased.

  • DA, PA, blah blah have nothing to do with SEO, you just fall in a trap.
  • Google does not care lately about many things.
  • Building web 2.0 and comments will not sky rocket your seo, sometimes can be also be very negative. There are more for diversity once you have a strong portfolio of RD, in order to not trigger bad seo signals to Google from aggresive guest posts/niche edits.

If AI thinks your competitors have better information to offer and looks more trustworthy that's the end of story.

Welcome to seo world, a never ending war.

Could those sites have better content than your site? Your "DA" is low anyway, but that's beside the point because it's a usually irrelevant factor.

I haven't had trouble in getting my pages to outrank higher competitive sites, just because my content is legit just better than theirs.

What I would do is look at the content of their page and see if they have more relevant information than you. If so, that's the reason they are likely now ahead of you. If not, they might also be using PBNs in the background to rocket themselves up.

If their pages has more relevant information, its time for you to re-optimize your page and add that missing content and make it better.

1. 1 particular keyword

2. I noticed the drop 2 weeks ago.

3. It's the same content topic.

Asked and answered your own question why your rankings are gone.

Not really. How will the other 2 rank above with zero backlinks - from comments of anywhere else??

Now, most of us are saying that DA and DR is nothing to SEO but a thin Medium blog post ranks above us all because it has a better DA but less DR.

So, why does it outrank others when the content on Medium is thin???

Thank you @Amphoric. Seems it's what I will do Asap.

I will work on it and come back and report the results...

Thanks us. I do appreciate.

How do you know that they have zero backlinks?

There is no way for you to know if they are using PBNs.

The fact is, your SEO strategy is shit, ask how many people in here are relying their rankings on web 2.0 or forum comments.. This does not work in the long run, most cases probably not even short run.. you just got lucky.

Because your focusing on off page SEO too much. It's 2021 not 2011.

No one here can help you without the link to your site. Doesn't matter if you answer all the questions on the topic. What matters is if the users like your topical coverage better than the competitors.

If they have higher time on site and lower bounce rates, they are overtaking you regardless. You think google is going to say "hey users like his competitors site more, but this guy has more backlinks so he's clearly the winner"

Google analytics is around 99% of the market share I think, if they didn't use analytics heavily on the top 10 SERPS, then they would be completely wasting their hoarding of data.

Google want to show users what they want, that's it. It's really that simple. Backlinks will get you into the top 10, but once you are into the top 10 then it's down to content alone. I strongly believe this. If users like your content more, then google will put you at #1, there's no reason not too.

Medium is authority site and regular SEO rules do not apply to them, simple as that.

to get a better sense, based on the following site, what is your keyword density for that particular keyword and what is it for the other 2 sites that are above you
http://www.visiospark.com/keyword-density-checker/
also, take a look at the result of the following tool for yours and the other 2 sites. anything jumps out from the usage of that keyword across different tags. lately i am seeing the use of the primary keyword in H1 tag being a deranking factor. see if you notice the same thing or not.
