ScrapeBox General Usage Instructions

Question regarding spinning comments. I noticed when I input my article in the spinner the is a \ the shows up before every ' and ". Is this affecting my posted comments?

My spun examples are coming out like <a href=\"http://site.com\"> and I'm also getting stuff like - isn\'t, I\'ll , don\'t etc...

I don't believe that there was this problem early and this would explain my current low approval rate for my recent comment runs.

You must be doing something wrong i think, i cannot replicate the problem html hyperlinks are working fine from start to finish.

Feel free to submit a support email.

Hi guys, I'm just another happy Scrapebox user from France. I would have 1 question though: I have bought 10 private proxies to use with SB and I'm getting "Error 404 Connection Refused (Error#10061)" on each and everyone of them after only a 1K run...

As it mentions, the remote machine is refusing a connection. Who's your proxy provider? Are you sure you have the correct username:password setup for them?

When starting the program, I am getting a popup saying: "Unable to access the licensing server or the server might be busy! Please try again in a few minutes."

I have the license server balanced across different servers, in totally different geographical locations on different internet backbones. If one fails to serve your request it will connect to the next and so on, checking TOP stats on the master is showing 51 days, 8 hours uptime.

Considering this, and the problem isn't wide spread it seems something on your machine is blocking ScrapeBox from connecting out.

Miss do yu know how to shut this thing off? Because it is killing me and it is preventing SB to continue commenting.

It cames by sudden!

Googleing "Disabling Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration" brings up this guide: http://www.visualwin.com/IE-enhanced-security/

Hey SF,

i see you did a lot of updates IN ONLY ONE DAY :) and Pr checking also seems to go faster now, amazing.

I have a question: Is there any kinds of footprints left by scrapebox so a site could detect that its actually the software doing comments?

I am asking because i remember there was a similar tool in the past and webmasters caught on because the other software left some kind of footprint. I am not sure whether it was browser referrer - IF IT IS, it would make sense to have an option to edit a custom browser referrer (like IE, Mozilla, whatever) so not all scrapeboxers use them same referrer? Just an idea...

AND: Please, please make it so it starts the browser on double-click on URL :)

Hi,

Since day 1 ScrapeBox has had a large internal list of the worlds most popular useragent strings. Every single connection it makes to the net regardless if it's commenting, pinging etc a random useragent is used.

I just pinged the scrapebox domain with Google homepage as the referrer:

et7fyf.png

One is Firefox running on XP, the other is Windows 7 running Chrome. There's Opera, Explorer, K-Melon etc in there as well as even non-Windows OS's such Ubuntu.

There is NO footprint, it's been like this since day one and it's all handled internally so you don't have to bother about loading even more files containing useragent strings.

v1.9.38 Uploaded
Added: Remove Duplicate Proxies and Remove Failed Proxies enabling a rescan of working proxies to assist filtering unreliable proxies which may work first scan and fail easily.
Added: Progress counters for email extraction.

If you are commenting with free proxies, please "Remove Failed" and then do a second or third test. You will notice more fail on the second test, there is no hope of these proxies being good for commenting if they fail a simple second test.

Doing this will leave you with proxies that are far more likely to be stable, and hopefully improve success rates during commenting for those of you who use them.

Reposting the same question as I have not got any answer yet ;-)

Just to make 2 details clear :
1) How can I force harvesting only on google.fr ?
2) How can I force harvesting only on google.fr / french language ?

You mentioned that point but did not explain the way to achieve that (cf page 24) !
Thanks for answers !

Hey Sweetfunny. The proxy scraper is working really well. Thanks. Don't you ever even think about removing it. =)

This was explained before, however...

Click the menu button next to Google and select "Add More Google"

Type the extensions you want (no http/www just domain)

Click "Apply" then select which extension you want (see first picture) and all Google harvests will connect to Google.fr for example instead of Google.com

Yes it's extremely useful having new IP's every few minutes streamed in to the tool, but they generate so many support emails it's beyond crazy and i just don't have any control over their reliability.

However a few things are being worked on to make them far more successful in the commenter, the first is just a minor thing in this update which makes rescans of the same proxies easier to get rid of the very poor ones which are up one second and down the next.

It's a matter of trying to make the most out of what they are.

LOL, i am spamming my own sites, didnt even notice:

lolspam.jpg

But on a serious side-note, why did i end up in Akismet spam filter on my own blog?
Is the proxy (i got the bunch from proxybonanza) on a blacklist? Or do i need to reword my stuff?

As for trackbacks: Do they have to be in the form [...] And whatever excerpt... [...] or do you add the [...] automatically?

Hey, I do have the right username and password for every proxy indeed, I know that because I've been using them with scrapebox successfully. They do work, but get blocked very quickly (after a 1K run), and then I have to wait for hours or reset my connection manually it's very weird. I'm using the proxies from "My-Proxy" and they seem relatively good and fast... Just wondering why IPs get blocked so quickly every time i run a batch.

Yeah that's happened to me more than once - I kind of like it because I can see what my comments look like to other blog admin's.

I doubt your proxybonanza proxies are blacklisted already unless you've been "commenting" the living shit out of blogs with them. PB has been good to me so far, you might have akismet's filtering turned up a bit hot on your site.

Sweetfunny suggests spending a few minutes looking at "real" sites' trackbacks for figuring out how to format them, which is great advice. You can use any format you want but to make them look more real you should check out other people's sites. I think there is also a video about trackbacks on SF's youtube channel. Good luck and happy commenting!

Also, have any of you noticed any real impact on their google rankings coming from the backlinks created through Scrapebox? We are not creating backlinks to get visitors through them but to get better rankings in google, so I am just wondering if some of you are having some noticeable success with that. I'm asking because I've been creating 1000s backlinks for a few of my domains in the last 10 days and haven't noticed any change in my google rankings so far. Is that just a matter of waiting? Do you not think google gives very little weight to number of backlinks and focuses more on link quality?

Sorry if this has been answered already...

In the (pinging) RSS video you mentioned that the 2 example links that you used was not enough for the need of a proxy.

When is a proxy needed when pinging RSS feeds? How many links should I watch out for? what's the sweet spot (roughly)?

Thanks as always Sweetfunny. It is very cool to grab new IP's every few minutes. And I appreciate you trying to make the proxy harvester better...but....I have to get this or my chest....

SCRAPEBOX USERS: stop bitching/complaining/whining about the proxy harvester. Sweetfunny added this feature to make the app more useful. It tries to harvest publicly available proxies for you to use. You know what happens to publicly available (aka free) proxies? They get the living crap pounded out of them pretty quickly. So periodically, all the "free" proxies are going to die....deal with it. Run the scraper again later if you want, you might have better results, and you might not.

SF did not write SB with the intention of making it a tool for getting "free" proxies. There is no tooth fairy, and there is no such thing as reliable free proxies. Just try running the "latest" list of proxies in the Proxy List subforum here - by the time you get it, they will be dead. That's the cold hard truth.

Proxies will increase your commenting success rate - A LOT - and paid proxies will increase them even more. Most of the time, I use whatever "free" proxies I can scrape together for search engine harvesting, then use PAID proxies (reliable) for my commenting. That mix has increased my successful commenting rate to 50-60% minimum, while also helping keep my spouse happy because we are no longer getting the Big G's banhammer for scraping the hell out of them. The other night I harvested over 1 million names "accidentally" and she was able to keep playing whatever Google stuff she was up to on one of the other computers on our network.

If the proxy harvester doesn't give you what you need, deal with it - find an alternative - look at the proxy forums, or sign up for a service, or try again in a few minutes or hours. The proxy harvester in Scrapebox is a wonderful add-on, it does really good for what it's their for, but it's not the raison d'etre of the app. Learn it....know it....live it....

peace,
gregstereo

I don't know for sure. Google is such an enigma LOL.

I do know that I ran PageRank check on all my domains today and noticed that my PR for two of them went from 2 to 3, for 3 or 4 others it went from 1 to 2, and about 5-7 names that had no PR a few days ago now have PR1. The only big change I've done with any of these has been a somewhat aggressive commenting campaign using SB.

So, is it a result of these campaigns, or is it a happy coincidence, or have the stars aligned with Jupiter? I don't know, and I don't put that much stock in pagerank alone anyway, but I do think I can say that commenting campaigns certainly don't hurt.

Wahoo my SB is back online!! The problem was my VM, it had gone berzerk on me. Everything is great now :)

Few questions:
- When WP posting is it normal to have 1-2 live links out 60 successful?
- What's a good about of blog to successfully post on daily? I'm doing about 100 a day

A couple of live links instantly from just 60 is normal, many blogs don't have their comment on auto approve due to *ahem* spammers.. :D

What's a good amount to comment on? There really is no answer, i done a 10k blast to my fairly authoritative site about 3 weeks ago and traffic has gone from about 1.5k a day to 3k a day.

But stick to the volume you are doing if you are unsure.

* Save List of URL's as an RSS Page

This feature lets you harvest, or paste in a list of any URL's then export those as an RSS Feed page ready to upload.. Which you can then also submit to over 100 RSS Services with ScrapeBox.

Screenshot: http://i48.tinypic.com/23r2zdj.png

Just go to Export >> Export as an XML RSS List
Click Scan

ScrapeBox will visit each site, and extract the page Title and Meta Description then just click "Export RSS XML" and save.

You can upload this page, ping it to the RSS services to get a list of profiles/link packets or whatever all indexed rather quickly or even create a feed for a static html site.

This feature is Beta, and will be enhanced.
