Hi BHW

I was wondering if any of you have interesting stories or lessons about the stock exchange.
The reason I ask this is that I want to invest some money into Tesla and I'm not sure what to expect.

Currently, I work at an approved tesla body shop and I am responsible for the cars once they enter until they leave.

I have noticed 2 things about these cars:
One is that they have very high-end technology.
The second is that they are manufactured like toys. (really bad)

The main reason I want to invest in these cars is that I found out that Tesla is allowed to collect all data while the car is driving from the front, 4 sides, and the rear camera's.
This means Tesla currently has about 90 billion kilometers in data while BMW and Mercedes are around 1 Billion. (this data is needed to make and improve self-driving cars)

I'm not sure why they are allowed to do this, maybe because they are from America and you know how they can twist the law for their advantage.

I truly believe that the stocks for tesla will rise up duo the self-driving autopilot system.
After many re-calibrations and diagnostic fixes, I have to do at work I found out that this system is very advanced compared to the ADAS system on other cars.

Once tesla has a completely self-driving car that is better than humans (let's be honest humans drive stupid so the system only needs to be better, not perfect) the stock will rise up because of the system.
Truck companies could use these and prices would go down for everything.

So what would an experienced investor do in this situation?
I don't have much money, just about 20k in my bank that's it but I want to invest this money in something and I had this idea.
My other investment would be in VR technology but that's another topic.
Please keep in mind that Tesla is manufactured like shit and the parts are never delivered on time this could also have an influence on the stock in my opinion.

Please, write some stories about what you learned while investing in the past. This could help me change my mind.

TLDR; I want to invest in Tesla because they are making a self-driving AI car that drives better and safer than humans.

I would say yes, I also invested when the price was 440. Another one good investment is NIO.

I always wonder why car manufacturers are so obsessed with self driving cars when the world population is growing each day. I would never trust a self driving car , i cannot trust my friends when they drive.

I'll keep an eye on that company too, thank.
What do you think about VR? I think it could go really big once they have a full suit or race chair

There will be a time when cars will drive better than humans. that means no traffic lights and, no traffic at all, no accidents and many more improvements. We just need to start somewhere. but i have the same issue like u, i drive tesla cars for work and never use the autopilot

I trade Tesla only during the day, now it is too high and there is a risk of a sharp drop, especially after being included in the index

Sounds to me you are not a daytrader. Long term, Tesla is the future here today. Only be mindful as already advised, not to buy a ta peak price on a daily chart. Wait for a decent pullback, but dont try target the bottom, you may miss the train.

This isn’t any new information. Many people also share your sentiment and that is why they invest in the stock.

Just buy a dip and hold on for the long term.

I bought at $396.
It has been increasing everyday. I think it will reach $800 again and they will make another stock split.

Yup, and at that time, driving a car manually with human control will no longer be acceptable or possible. Because it's for our safety :p

Holding bulk of shares since 300$ pre split.
Technically speaking tesla stocks are pumping because of the SpaceX program.

It is known that Europe is making faster cars and better batteries than Tesla.

Tesla full autopilot is innovation BUT far from perfect and will take years to become safe alternative to human control.

There are better performing EVs out there.

In terms of stock performing.. NIO is killing it from 3$ to 43$

Don't expect any massive pumps from now-on.. Tesla / Amazon / FB was safe bet during the bloody market.

In general, the self-driving car is safer. Most fatal accidents happen because of the human factor and human mistakes. Car can't be drunk, tired, sleepy, or indisciplined.

Self driving cars are safer ? Do you even have a driving license ?
You are saying that self driving cars are perfect and no mistakes ? A few people have died becuase of these self driving cars.
And you argument doesn't stand becuase we don't have enough self driving cars to compare the data. As long as there are 95% cars that are driven by humans and a 5% self driving cars we can't say how safe these cars are as long as they not all over the road.

Autonomy will eventually revolutionize whole automotive industry. Currently, Tesla takes lead and will continue that pace. Later on, semi-trucks might trace the same path.

Elon had also stressed the idea of 'shared autonomy fleet'
You could rent it out to Uber like services and cover price of the car in a couple of years.

It's a big YES.

See if it dips towards the end of this month.

You can definitely buy now, but you gotta hold it for at least 5 years to get something significant in return.
Btw, I don't understand the need for self driving cars. Only people who like to brag are going to buy them. It can be useful for people with physical disabilities but majority of them will not be able to afford these cars for sure.
