Google releasing a large update today

Well, I have been following all these so called seo gurus, and from what I gathered no one has any idea what the last update was about, let alone provide a fix for it. They are just repeating the same bs that google has been saying for the last few years. Good job.

Oh about the fight, bart simpson has already won even before the fight began, from what I know his not a google ass kisser like the rest.

Definitely there is a cure for it. But google is using anti-seo filter for sites that affected by last core update to delay the results. So no one fill find it. They are playing a game with us. We have to wait few more days for next core update.

I feel like the serp results have been partly frozen due to Covid. It is the only thing that makes sense.

Google knows people can manipulate the searches and some individuals are so good at it that they can set up private scripts using AI generated content to rank for thousands of long tail keywords.

No matter what a user searches for, they could land on the website for 'how to trim your pubic wig' and then be scared with Covid propaganda and tricked into buying things they do not need to 'protect their family'. No matter what you rank for, you can take advantage of the searcher because Covid is effecting every single person in this world.

I guess because of this Google decided to put the brakes on, slightly downgrade less trusted websites and freeze them? I have been involved in SEO since 2012 and nothing has been this impossible before.

My theory is they use ranking signals that got so messed up because of Covid, they had to somehow freeze it while the pandemic.

For example, they use location data for local shops...when everyone stayed inside for months, this messed up their data.

Something like that.

Interesting, could be all sorts of secret ranking signals made up of people's private data I suppose. When the 'glitch' happened I went from #6 to #2 for a very nice keyword, I'm really hoping to be there when it gets 'thawed / unfrozen'

Truesed sites..huh! I have seen plenty of scraping sites in ymyl category that got boost from last update.

I've heard a few people complain about spammier websites getting a boost, in my niche this didn't happen - I am only involved in one niche but have multiple websites in it, so I have limited knowledge in the update apart from what I hear on BHW

Randomly gained 10-20 positions on my medium competition keywords a few days ago lol. Now they're on page 2.
Funny thing is, I did literally nothing on my site for the past month. No new content, no new backlinks.

Well, I do believe it's deserved as all of my competitors have barely any content and I have a bit at least. Weird though that it's just randomly happening now after stagnant rankings around 30-40 for over a month.

Also my site is relatively young, has content since February.

Hello everyone. I'm just back to tell you that if you search for 'outdoor wifi extender' in the US, don't click on howardtheatre website since it will infect your computer (should be on the fourth place on the first page, because why not). It's nice to see that Google has fixed its problems and we're already in September...

Wow that's crazy.

I'm seeing some crazy search results also in travel and other niches. I searched for a technical thing and some link about Africa is 4th place. I clicked and it seems like malware.

Well, since it's been so long, I can assume that this is the new Google. Gear up your router/computer/phones with protection against malware/viruses boys and girls, we just went back in time.
