Google releasing a large update today

just opened it and nothing happened LOL

I just clicked on the website and it has some kind of shady redirect. Definitely not safe and it's not what G is showing in SERP. Maybe they target people by location, I'm in Canada.

Here you go:

Well, since it's been so long, I can assume that this is the new Google. Gear up your router/computer/phones with protection against malware/viruses boys and girls, we just went back in time.

We gone back in time by more than 10 months?

Just wondering if it's safe to go outside.

About 20 years actually. I remember the days when the first pages on Google were filled with malware and viruses and I would give my computer cancer just to listen to some songs. Good days, but should have remained in the past.

I think many of those malware authors from back in the day could be lurking around here lolololol

I miss the times when Google would release an update once in a while and would explain what it was about. Now it seems so random like they lost control over it. For some keywords/niches, the ranking doesn't even make sense.

The ranking is completely "haphazard" and can be totally absurd in some cases. Sites with shady redirects outranking established sites. Sites with poor content quality/copied content, tons of nofollow low-quality forum links are now ranking in my industry.

Yep

First impressions: I believe they've rolled back the May upate.

Oh it just struck me that people are returning to their activities.

I think the pre-pandemic user habits could be coming back, so maybe they didn't roll back the May update but instead people are sending them the usual signals again.

It does seem like it's going back to pre-pandemic SERPs.

I don't think so. On my end - nothing. I don't know if it's good or not looool
