Which is best Anti-spam plugin for wordpress?

Hi Friends,

I did not open my wordpress blog for commenting. But now I am going to open for all. Unfortunately, I got solid spam comment which are only targetting for grabbing backlink. I want to get rid of those all kind of spam comments. I want free plugin only because I am not earning any income from my blog. Here I found so many experts are active. Anyone can guide me which is best antispam plugin (free) and why it is best.

I tried wordpress zero spam but it also blocked my comment too. Thus I removed it.

Thanks for updating. I do not think so reCaptcha is best solution because there are so many antispam plugins available without having captcha but those are monitoring bots and automated commenting softwares.

Akismet is not free. I have blog with my own company's ads. Akismet has rule of thumb that if you earning from your blog then it doesn't threat as personal blog. That's why I did not install it.
