You can try with anti-spam bee. It's a free one for personal and commercial use. You can stop spammers quickly without requiring CAPTCHAS and without sending personal data to third-party services.

Can try hCaptcha if you are looking for something new, it is a bit better for privacy than reCAPTCHA (at least according to cloudflare). Akismet is good also from my experiance.
