My aim is to make my video go viral by optimizing my YouTube SEO which in turn should rank my video in Google search too. I had posted a thread where I had asked should I quit my channel or not (as it's almost a dead channel) so majority was like don't quit, so this is my last attempt in reviving the channel.

Channel Stats:
Subscribers: ~45k
Active Subs (who watch my video when they get the notification): 200-500
ik that its a dead channel

Last 28 Days Stats:
CTR: 11.1%
Avg. View Duration: 1:18 mins

My Niches:
Niche A:
Tutorials (you can get views but not subscribers - I do know that)
Niche B: somewhat Tutorials but not exactly (you can get views + subs in this particular niche, also this is niche that helped me get 85% of the dead subs I have)

The "Good Boy" Method:
Until my first video that blew up (niche A) I used to be a good boy to the YouTube algorithm (who is my dad and is strict af). When my first video blew up my ignorance started to build up, as that video had reached the 1 million mark, ignorance grew too. After a few months a video from niche B blew up and within 1.5 months racked up 150k views (now sitting at ~180k-190k).

Few months down the line- no video seems to blowing up, only views is growing from YT search & Google Search. This was because I was a "bad boy" by not listening to the algorithm and not giving it what it wants (great ctr, audience engagement & retention, etc).

So I've decided to be the good boy. My theory is that as my channel stats were down for so long as soon as it sees a great improvement (by being the good boy) it would start recommending my video(s).

Game plan:
Upload 3 videos.
Video 1- A short video that falls in between niche A & B, just to get things rolling.
Video 2- A long video that falls in Niche B, this video is what (I'm aiming) should go viral/blow up.
Video 3- A long video that falls in between niche A & B, 2nd attempt in getting the video to blow up just in case the Video 2 fails.

All 3 videos will be uploaded in the consecutive weeks. So this week- Video 1, next week- Video 2, next-to-next week- Video 3.

As soon as I publish Video 2 & Video 3, I plan to share it on Reddit & Facebook. (I've tried Reddit but not FB, whenever I post a link in FB it gets taken down).
----------------------------------------------------------------------

VIRAL CHART (according to me)

<50k views - It's better to quit.
100k views - Hmm, better than my recent videos.
250k views - Can do better, gotta try again.
500k views - Basically goal accomplished only if I can 10-12% of them to subscribe.
1 million views- If 5-7% of them subscribe then I'm done

----------------------------------------------------------------------
SO FAR WHAT I HAVE DONE:

Uploaded Video 1 few hours back.

Here's the stats:
11.PNG
Even though my CTR for this video has gone down a bit, that's expected as it's a niche A type of video.
But my average view duration is good as it comes around 38-ish% compared to some of my other videos where it's like 10-20%.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

My main goal would be reaching 100k, but now I'm trying to make a video go viral as more views = more people converting from viewers to subs. Any helpful tips would be appreciated.

Thank You

looks like you have it all planned up good. i'll be following this journey

Yea, I did. Before quitting it's better to try my best, accept the failure (if I were to fail) and have no regrets.

channel already monetized? How much are you making per month? Good luck further

It was monetized as soon as I met the monetization requirements. I'm currently making anywhere between $250-$300 per month. Thanks :D

UPDATE

1.PNG

These are the stats of Video 1. Wasn't expect the traffic to come from Browse features (yt homepage, etc)
As of now the video has 611 views.

My next update will be when I'm ready with Video 2 or if something huge were to happen.

How do you plan on sharing it on Reddit? Most communities seem to have very strict rules against self-promotion.

I watched a video from Roberto Blake, he said 1-2% of views convert to subs.
I think you need way more views to get the subscribers you want.

I only share videos on Reddit that I know will provide value and will be beneficial to others on sub-communities (e.g. if I make GTAV videos, I would post on the gta5 sub reddit rather than the gaming sub reddit)

That's why I'm try my best to "make" my video go viral. Also the conversion rate for views to sub for me is 0.35-0.48% .

That makes sense. I might want to try that out. Thanks!

So video you make is all original one or altered completion etc?

But be careful, in reddit if people don't like the post/content they straight up downvote the post and dislike the video. So share only the best of the best content on reddit.

It's original.

It's original.
even several subreddits have strict rules for self promotion

UPDATE 2

These are the stats of Video 1:

1.PNG

I've uploaded Video 2 few hours back. I haven't shared it yet.

Video 2 stats:

2.PNG

My next step would be to share Video 2 on Reddit and Facebook. Once I have done that, I will update this thread with the results. Also, in my niche it takes around 2-3 weeks for a video to blow up.
So, after sharing the video I must wait for a month or two.

You got 45k subscribers, how you have got that? By YT Ads?
Out of 45k you said avg 500 are active.
You got those subscribers by following him and they follow you ?

i like that method name"Good Boy" :D
Well i'm trying to be a good boy to YouTube so yeah :D

Yea about that... 1 year back when there wasn't much competition in my niche (niche B) there was a trick of getting subs but it doesn't work now, people can see through it. No I didn't use ads, my growth is "organic".

Bestist of luck, it looks like you'll be able to reignite the channel with as many regular videos as you are doing, I also upload a few videos and get good views, but like ranking websites, it takes a while for watch hours to build up.
