Why can't i outrank a low quality article?

Hello,

I had this article that was in 6th position two days ago, of all the articles that are on the first page, mine has the most valuable content, my website speed is the best among them, longer quality content.

Two days ago, I worked even more on my content, updated it added more values to it, it outranked three more competitors, and my article now is at 3rd position.

The article in the first position is a high DA with 730 words with dozens of good backlinks. Since my article has one backlink, I don't think I can't outrank it for the time being.

However, the article in 2nd position has 0 backlinks and has an article that it's 1000 words long.

My article has 2600 words, with 1 backlink and much better content, I'm not praising I'm just stating the facts.

One particular note on that 2nd position competing article is that it has been written in 2017 and their DA is much lower than mine.

Why i can't understand, is WHY the hell can't I outrank that 2nd position article considering the shitty stats it has?


Anybody has an idea why? I'd appreciate getting your expert's opinion.

How old is your article? Sometimes aged articles rank higher simply due to their age. If that's the case, you got nothing to worry about - however, if you'd like to expedite the process, backlinks would be the way to go

To be honest, sometimes trashes can be at top 1 for a long long time (good job Google).
The only thing I want to suggest you is to add more links to it. That's it.

"What did you mean by i had nothing worry about" That this situation will get resolved by itself as my article gets aged?

True, i noticed that will a lot of competing articles, shittiest and aged articles with barely 500 words are standing strong and outranking unbelievably good articles. No value in it for the searchers.

They may be using hidden pbns as usual, and you need to add some qual backlinks to rank up

I just followed on the suggestion that they may be using hidden PBNs, i did a DNS lookup on the IP address of the domain name, i got the ip address and i did a Reverse IP Lookup, and found out 3 sites, and searched them using the following google expressions:

link:competitor.com site: pbn.com
intext:competitorsname site: pbn1.com

I only found one backlink on 1 website among the three, but it's coming from a 0 DA site, it looks deserted.

So could i have possibly missed something here?

A good PBN wouldn't be found by doing that in all honesty.

How Old is your site.? How many posts you have on the site (Total).?

Know that nowadays Google not only Cares about Long Article, Backlinks. For better ranking, your site should be Trust Worthy. Site Age, Posts Quality + Quantity, Proper On-Page SEO Optimization are the Big Factors.

Moreover, Google does not rank any site overnight So be patient, Do proper On-Page SEO, Build Quality Backlinks & Observe for 4-8 weeks.

It depends on the domain links as well, link juice can pass even if the article itself doesn't have any direct links,
other factors can implement like the age, structure, internal linking, etc...
They can be using some hidden PBNs as well, try to find out!
The best option is to go with some links and optimise the title for a better CTR (it plays a major role in the first positions!)

2nd pos is definitely using PBNs.

Your link count is low.

Try to get guest post links or niche edits link.

If you are comfortable with PBN, you can try them. But tread carefully with PBNs.

Hi, There are many reasons for ranking of blogs, it doesn't only depends on word or backlinks. You please address this issue properly your blog age, backlink types every small things effects your ranking.

Sometimes it happens, maybe because of aged articles and hidden PBN. I suggest adding a link from a high traffic site relevant to your niche, it can help.

A good PBN wouldn't be found by doing that in all honesty.

But the link would still show up as a backlink to the site- using tools like ahref or similar - correct?
Otherwise what is the point.
(do not know so much about PBNs)

My website is about 1 year old with 30 articles. They were more, but i started deleting recent articles that i thought were low quality to get it down to that number.

That could be, check the website total links, also the total number of ranking keywords and traffic made by this website,
an authority website can outrank even without links to a specific page
